Sloppy hockey all around, something like 8 PP's (both teams)? If you're a Caps fan, your happy it was a W. Rangers despite playing like poo poo had a 5 on 3 and couldn't score. Hank let a crap one in AND it looked like Johansson was off sides on that one goal. With that said, it still would have been a loss.

Not impressed with the Caps, think the Rangers can still beat them, the John Moore goal (and yes, it was in) and Hags post its a 3-3 game despite Hanks human performance.

Yes, Holtby was just Brilliant. He showed great skill getting beat by Hagelin when that puck clanged off the crossbar, and liteally pulled a goal out of the net.

Patrick Roy himself could not have had such a dominating performance.

Dude, that was in the net. The Cam couldn't see it clearly, but the mother fucker reached INTO the net and scooped it out. It was a copperfield like illusion.

It's rare you see him give a shit goal or two up, but it's going to happen. I didn't think this series would be easy. We need to take on in their backyard tomorrow.

Sorry guys was this loss was indicative of Hank's uneven play throughout the season.....brilliant in keeping the Caps at bay the first 15 minutes of the game, then proceeds to basically hand them the game. the second goal was close to offsides and our d was sleeping, but no matter, gotta make that stop if he ever wants to get to the next level and win a cup...the 3rd, forget it, brutal.

Moore's non goal was a goal, but wouldn't have mattered anyway. so much for staying out of the box too.

Bottom line result was fair last night, but I feel a little better than i did as a fan going into the series, becasue we saw I think the best the Caps can offer in the first period last night....The Rangers had a decent amount of good chances (Nash played like a softie again though............Rick you are allowed to throw a body check every now and then).

Cally had a bad game by the way, I know that's also blasphemy too.

    They'll have a better Game 2.

The bottom line is this regarding Game 1: This loss happened due to an inability of the Rangers to perform, and not because of an outstanding performance by the Capitals.

That was a joke. How the hell was that puck not in the net if he readhing into the net with his golve and pulled it out with the puck in it?

You know, I really don't understand why everyone is slamming Hank for this game. The only goal IMHO that was truly putrid was the third goal, and frankly, that goal never should have happened becuse an obvious penalty was missed by the referees right before the goal.

The First goal was a typical PP goal performed by a team that actually knows how to run a Power Play. It was their fourth Power Play attempt.

The Second goal is squarely on the defensemen and not the goaltender.

Like I said, one shity goal and he was human last night. 2nd goal was totally on the D, but you know you play with fire long enough you will get burned. That was the Caps 5th PP, and Ove is great at going where the puck is going to be. Thats exactily how he scored. GREAT goal scorers will always be where the puck is going, not where the puck is. I think Gretzkey said that.

I know, if they could have scored ealy (after the Caps 2 quick goals) it might have changed things.

But Matt, Eyedea, If you look around at the media this morning, as well as the Rangers boards, Hank is getting SLAMMED. I agree he wasn't at his best, but again, I only hold him responsible for one goal (The third goal)

bottom line is Hank cannot be outplayed by Holtby......Holtby didn't let in any bad goals , Hank did, we lose...

That PP goal was a wide slap shot of the back boards that went right to Ovi....how Hank wasn't in position there was a little shocking...I'll let that one slide because we gave them 4 chances at that point, one was bound to result in a goal.

The breakway, that's where you gotta come up big.......Hank's money in one on ones during shoot outs, he's gotta make that save, right between his arm and body, bad spot to let one in, wasn't as great shot.

the 3rd goal doesn't even need to be discussed, and that was the real back breaker anyway.....2-1 going into the third = a different game.

Holtby was cleanly beaten three times this game.
