If I was to over react after just one game, I would tell you that we're in bi trouble and this is a terrible match up. I would tell you that we cannot possibly beat this team with our PP in the shape its in versus the shape their PP is in. I would tell you that Ovie is on a gigantic run right now. I would tell u we needed 7 to beat these guys last year and thats with the Caps having been hand-cuffed by their own coach. If I wanted to be a half-full guy, I would tell you we had some nice chances, we wont continue to take 5 penalties a game and there were a couple calls that went against us. Its still VERY early in this series but I have a bad feeling that the first scenario is going to be closer to the way this thing shakes out
guys, no one is abigger McD guy than me and obviously, everyone knows how reliable and valuable Girardi is but this is NOT the night to talk about MDZ, if we're looking to point fingers at defenseman. I mean, REALLY?????
I screwed up the quoting some how and then Hack continued it. It now looks like I made the retarded comment about MDZ throwing his stick. So embarrassing
Do you actually watch hockey that doesn't involve the Rangers? Holtby has been absolutely brilliant for most of the season.
Actually just posted it in the NHL thread, didn't want to ruin the pity party in here. Anderson amazing. Karlsson amazing. Dan O'Rourke a fucking idiot who should never be allowed to referee another Sens game.
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Fun game tonight to be at. Place was rocking. I got worried at first with King Henrik stopping every shot the Caps had in the 1st. Neither team played great really, but I did enjoy Ovechkin's goal from Green. That was cool to see. One of the dumbest things I have ever read on TGG. And that says a lot. You must not watch much non-Ranger hockey.
I do but rarely the Caps. Last time I checked his SV % was something like .908. Excuse my ignorance, short season. Nice win for your boys tonight, you must be pleased.
The season started out terribly for the Caps, so his numbers don't show how good he really was. Don't forget the 1st Round last year though, as Holtby was able to take down the world champion Bruins in his 1st career playoff series.
Not taking it upon myself to be a voice of reason, but the defensive corps of the Rangers as a whole was not good. Lundqvist also, not good enough. Still comes down to not being able to put the puck in the net on the power play and taking wayyy too many penalties. Only play I'm scratching my head on was the phantom Asham penalty, but that may have just been a reputation kind of call, idk. I didn't see anything that makes me think this will be a series sweep for the Caps. The Rangers undoubtedly have to play much better, but I think they'll adjust. Saturday will be a better game, I'm sure.
He didnt play as well as we're used to and he was 1/2 of the combo that lost the game, quite simply. That second goal cannot ever happen in the playoffs He was also standing there when Ovie picked up the rebound on the first goal
