i thought MDZ had no fun whatsoever tonght, definitely stood out.
I try and try to put together this season, but I cannot for the life of me.
Are they that out of gas from the regular season and first 2 - 7 game slugfest playoff series?, or
(my deepest sports fantasy) are they turning it on just enough to win while they get their legs back, and then tank the next game on purpose and hope for the best, but will always win that 7th game that looks like it's definitely in the mail for this series.
this team has me more puzzled than i already am in general.

I am so disgusted with Mike Rupp this morning, it is beyond words. I was a huge fan of his this whole playoffs as he was making good play after good play. Last night, when he popped Brodeur in the mouth, besides being guilty of a blatant cheap shot, he sent the Devils a simple message:

    "We can't beat you."

That has no place on this team. I truly do hope Shannahan suspends him so that he can save the Rangers the trouble of benching him.

What blows my mind is that somehow, Del Zotto has become Brian Leetch in the mind of some Rangers fans in so far that if you dare criticize him, you are instantly torched by his followers. Michael Del Zotto is a good defenseman, but his name should not be uttered in the same sentence as Brian Leetch.

I've said it before, and I will say it again: The biggest issue with this team is that our defense is one-dimentional. We have six good (not great) defensemen who play the exact same game. Del Zotto should be the leading candidate to be traded for another defenseman with a solid shot from the point.

Lets trade the farm cause of 1 game. Last time I checked it was 2-2.

I knew it was going to be almost impossible to beat the Devils 2 X in a row in Newark (look at my posts). I did NOT Think they were going to be out classed like that though.

I do however think Hank bounces back strong and wins game 5 at the Garden, Marty B is not that good, Rangers just can't score.

I think it goes 7 to be honest .. not sure who wins.

no problem with Rupp....obviously someone has to light a fire under this teams collective ass.

anyway the SOJF, SORF in me says we are done. I know I have no faith and that's lame, but this team isn't showing me anyhing in the last few games......hopefully they prove me wrong again as they have in the last 2 series, but i still think playing the way they play has taken a toll during these playoffs. Devs finish them in 6

Ive read two stupid things so far this morning.

One is from you homos who are embarrassed by Rupp. Stop it. At least he showed some sort of emotion. You should be directing your anger at Ricjards, gabby, Stepan, Callahan, AA, Boyle and the rest of the useless fuckin forwards on this team.

The second stpidity belongs to hacket. Sorry dude. Wwe;ve heard your take on the clones on D we have. But to call it the biggest weakness on this team is just silly. Im pretty sure the biggest weakness on this team is a lack of scoring from our forwards. Our D prolly has the same amount of fuckin points than our offense so how could you possibly call our lack of scoring from our D a problem??

Rupp suckerpunching Brodeur is nothing to be proud of. It was an idiotic move.

Thank you for proving my point for me. I dared suggest that the Rangers trade Michael Del Zotto for a competant threat from the point, and you equate it to trading "the farm". Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds?

You really think it is a bad move to trade one of our defensemen for an offensive threat from the point? Do you not have enough faith in Lundqvist that he could play behind a defensive core that blocks 18 shots per game instead of 24?

OK, that's a fair point, about the forwards, but I ask you this: Isn't it possible that having a real threat at the point on the power play could open things up for the forwards to attack? Any team who bothers to scout the Rangers knows how poor the Rangers are from the point, so they can really clamp down on the forwards on the Power Play.

What's the point? He has more goals then 90% of the rangers forwards.

c mon man.....seems like all their goals are from d men lately. Besides Del Zotto's shit game last night, there is absolutely no effing way the d men on this team deserve any criticism. And the PP? are you kidding? the only one's who get clamped down on are the point men....because no one else is doing shit, controlling the half boards, carrying the puck into the zone and setting up......the forwards completely suck right now....and by the way they do have 4 pp goals this series so believe it or not that's not their problem......5 on 5 play is....right now they suck at it because the forwards are doing their job.
