Anderson made some "what the fuck" saves tonight. Realistically we could have won 3-0 if he wasn't magical in net and the puck hadn't been skipping and bouncing around so much. Our attack looked fine despite the score, though Gabby was invisible.
It was a proper game of hockey with both teams for the first time playing to their respective strengths. Ottawa are clearly the better offensive team, but the Rangers are such a well drilled defensive unit that it doesn't matter how much of the puck you have or how many shots you put on the net, you need to find something special to score on them when they play like that. We didn't. No complaints about the result.
Ugh. Every Senators fan is still and will always be hideously embarrassed about that. Look, it wasn't our idea, OK?
Oh FFS. Stop being such a homer and tell me why he should have received a suspension at all, much less anything more than the one game he did get. In hockey terms, not idiot emotive rubbish like this post.
gabby made a nice pass that was almost a goal. i thought gabby played pretty decent. same with richards, stepan, and dubi. it was just a grind of a game
IM BEING THE HOMER WHEN YOU DONT THINK HE SHOULDNT HAVE GOTTEN A GAME? I'm done with you. You're a complete moron.
Not exactly but he made an amazing save on Turris with about a minute left that preserved the win...Kreider on the 1st line was a surprise, but after the 1st period he played well...Boyle rises to the occasion again, right now next to hank boyle is our MVP...
I said the same thing Tommy, too much counter punching, they need to carry the play more, and the fuckin' PP is awful...
I've justified why I don't think he should have got a game penalty on top. You're just shouting like a mongoloid, you're not actually attempting to justify anything. So yes, you're being a homer.
Yeah, late in the game after Boyle scored Gaborik ripped the sharp angle shot past Anderson and off the crossbar.
I've been watching the Rangers play hockey for 25 years (Beezer's rookie season). I have never, EVER seena Rangers goalie put on a performance like Lundqvist put on last night.
As well as Lundqvist played last night, (and don't get me wrong, he was lights out) I think I've seen him look even better than that. That's the scariest part. Lundqvist is great. I'm not gonna get way ahead of myself and talk about his number getting raised to the ceiling but already I feel like I'm gonna look back at his career and kind of revel at how good he really was.
I am not ready to say he is a better career goaltender than Mike Richter, but I will say this: Richter never had a season like Lundqvist is having this year.
