Miller was 1 or 2 on the Rangers shitlist (next to Brendan Smith). He's always been in AV's doghouse and management didn't like his attitude and that he was Hayes's party buddy in Manhattan. They're hoping Hayes will refocus with Miller gone. Not that is is worth anything but I hung out with Miller once at the training facility up in Westchester like 3 years ago and honestly the guy came across as a total douche bag. Whatever, it was a personality conflict and Gorts wanted any excuse to move him. I just hope management knows what they're doing and not doing this for AV who really needs to go
Miller was going to get paid this offseason...$5 million+ a year. Not worth it. Vlad replaces him...I wish we got Sergachev or Raddysh for McD but will take the pool of prospects and picks. If tampa wins the cup we get the 2nd turning into a 1st which is nice
Rangers looking at Kovalchuk for next season, he's finally an UFA I'm sure they want Tavares too but I'd be shocked if he kicked the Islanders while they're down and came here. No idea where he ends up, but if he picks Toronto they would become an instant powerhouse
Cant tell you how many times I have heard this...especially during my time working in NYC. To put it mildly, a few working friends had similar encounters with Miller. They said the same thing. Something like " Cant pinpoint it exactly but he just spews asshole" and these are two really easy going guys. Never a bad word...well...except Miller.
Great game tonight, fellas! Damn good performance by Lundqvist and the Rangers. It felt like a playoff game. Pretty impressive to see a team out of the playoff hunt play so hard. Eller tied it late and Kuznetsov had an amazing goal to win in OT, but The King was on top of it most of the night. Holtby was pretty good too. Hope he continues to get back to form.
I'll say one thing about them they never quit....they also never win, this is more of a retool than a rebuild, need to find 3 dmen, Shatty, Pionk, Skjei are good enough....good luck to the Caps in the playoffs, TDK

I would love it if the islanders fired Weight and hired AV. Seriously need a veteran coach and I believe he would have some talent to work with. How is his defensive scheme? The isles gave up 297 goals this year, highest total in the NHL since 2007.
His team in Vancouver had peeked and getting rid of him didn’t rebound them. It at least more evident that the Rangers decline under him is also due to a significant decline in talent, but if they are going to rebuild may as well do it from the ground up. But I’d definitely take him on the Isles.
It won’t be Tavares number anymore, he’s going to Toronto or Tampa. I would be shocked if he re-signed with Isles.
Odds are whoever the Rangers hire will be worse than AV and fans will wish they had AV back when he leads his new team to the Presidents Trophy (but not the Stanley Cup).
