Rangers were dominating the OT and skating circles around the Sharks (Zibanejad hit a post) until Nick Holden blew the game with the stupidest of penalties: fronting his man in front of Hank, Holden gets caught holding the guy's stick in full view of the ref. 4-on-3 Sharks...game.
The defense has been bad all year. I blame the coaching more than anything and hopefully #5 gets taken out his misery in the offseason

The loss at MSG last night to the Pens confirms the Rangers will be the Wild Card 1 and likely play the Montreal Canadiens Round 1. If so, I think it will be a good series. I think someone here pointed out the Habs swept the Rangers this year, so I guess that is not a good sign, but I feel the Rangers are just as good if not better than Montreal.
sure looking like that right now the team can't defend. They had a lot of fight last night but offense can only go so far when you leave 2 Penguins in front of the net without a D man anywhere near and you let the Pitts AHL squad have their way anywhere they want
Derek Stepan has a 47.3 % Face-Off win percentage. This ranks him 105th in the NHL among centers with at least 50 games played at the position. http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?agg...filter=gamesPlayed,gte,50&sort=faceoffWinPctg Remember - this is out FIRST LINE CENTER!
it's really bad form to complain after ending an 8 game skid at home but the boys did their best to try and let the flyers back in last night. if not for a great glove save, the rangers almost let a 4-1 lead melt away. in the last 2 freakin minutes.
There is a method to my madness, TommyJ. Did you notice how many key face-offs that they lost during that near-collapse?
