This. No one in the league has a shutdown second CB. We NEED a dominant pass-rusher up front. That's just the way it is.

Getting Jenkins and Washington back is basically like signing a couple of huge free agents.

actually yes it did burn us, to compensate we had to over blitz to even try to create pressure on the QB. If you don't pressure manning he will beat you, we failed to pressure manning in the second half and he beat us.

the jets de's are really bad. ellis might as well have not been on the field the last 2 weeks with that cast, he couldn't even tackle anyone and he was still deemed the better option.

our biggest need is an upper echelon pass rusher. a #2 cb is something we certainly could use, but Lowery will only get better. He has been fantastic this year, until he faced Peyton Manning.

If we add an upper echelon pass rusher i don't think anyone would ever want to face our defense.

That is where Peppers would be great for us.

And I still have not had this question answered, to sign a big time FA, do we need to lose a big time player? or just a big time contract? Because if we cut Gholston who has a huge contract, would allow us to bring a big money FA into the fold ala Julius Peppers

The Jets only have four healthy defensive linemen includin Ellis. If Jenkins was healthy, Pouha iwould be getting some snaps at DE.

I think we need DL and OL depth more, but CB is definitely on the list. It's a shame - I like Strickland and Lowery but Strickland can't stay healthy and Lowery is sort of a liability at #2. I don't ever want to see Coleman, Sheppard or Ihedigbo at cb again though.

Adalius Thomas is our best bet right now, and as for CB draft is the way to go. Sanchez played like a pro bowler today, and if we get Golden Tate.....

I think the big problem is that if a player is cut and does not leave as a free agent we are SOL.

We also can't sign a guy who enters the offseason as a UFA. We can only sign free agents who were cut by their team, not those who were already due free agency this season.

Lowery has been solid most of this season, he's only going to get better under Rex and his coaches.

We need a pass rushing LB badly, thats our number 1 need, no doubt about it.

Pass rush is a major major problem. We can only put some pressure when we bring an all out blitz. The likes of Marques Douglas and DeVito just don't cut it.

If it is an uncapped year, that is the timeto cut the deadwood.

As for the rest, you're really letting your lack of following the Jets show through.

So I'd we get rid of Lito and the ghost, both with big salaries can we get two FAs with equal contracts?

I don't know, I think he'll develop into a great #3 corner, but a below average #2 corner. I say we use our first two picks on OLB and Corner whichever is the best bang for the buck.

I believe it's based on what the other team pays them, not what we had paid them.
