wont argue here. Offense and defense will win you most of your games,ST not so many. My point is,you are weak on O and D,so dont expect too many wins with no wildcat. Cause Ginn won't do that most gamnes on ST
You had a great post and then had to go and say the Phisn were tougher... The Jets shot themselves in the foot. That hardly makes the Phins tougher. Enjoy the win because honestly I really was starting to think you guys were for real but between your 4th quarter last week and the entire game this week it's apparent you guys won't win too many more. It's ok though... you won your SB twice this year so enjoy it.
Okay, so just to be clear about your game-winning, playoff-bound strategy going forward. Special teams is going to carry you for the next 8 games and Ginn will put up 14 points every game? That better be so, because your offense and defense is lame.
Once the film of this game makes the rounds, Their ST's will have to carry them the rest of the way..
so the 30 points we scored the 3 games before todays game (including the 1st one against you) means nothing? funny.
Beat it with players? The ANCHOR to our defense is out for the season! Face it, the Saints figured something out, and now the league is copying it. RIP Wildcat 2008-2009 I'm kinda glad, I'm so tired of hearing Wildcat. It's the option.
I guess so, because our defense shut down the Wildcat and the conventional attack and our offense ran the ball down their throats. Ginn's going to need two TDs every game.
27 carries for 102 yards is "running down our throats" ??? its a good rushing game (its all your offense could do, without our starting middle linebacker) but thats "running down our throats" ????
Ya... but that doesnt change your players made plays. Your players got off their blocks... Jenkins or not. Hitting a RB in the backfield is b/c blocks are missed...
Hate to break it to you. The Saints did the same thing. We filled the gaps, and contained the corners. If you neutralize the option back, you force everything up the gut. That's all we did today. So if Ronnie didn't take off right away, he gave our defense an extra second to get in the backfield. The fact that the Dolphins receivers are average-below-average doesn't help either. The NFL is no place for the option. I'll give it to you, it was a nice change of pace. But, the novelty is wearing off.
I agreed. I didn't make the original post. But, the fact that we didn't have Leon was big in this game. Since he always does very well against the Dolphins.
I agree with FinNasty. Your Oline beat the crap out of our Oline today. Did a hell of a job today. If Ginn had slower than 4.3ish speed, you would have won the game today........and deservedly so.
No, they absolutely did not. The Saints largely contained it blitzing cornerbacks. The Jets did not do that today. You're describing the goal of basically every run defense ever, congratulations. The Jets didn't "solve" the Wildcat in any way, shape or form. There's no magic bullet for it, nor did the Jets do anything new that Rex Ryan didn't try to do two weeks ago, or hasn't been attempted from the very beginning of the formations professional usage. The Jets did a good job defending the run today. That's really it, coupled with Ronnie Brown dancing unnecessarily trying to go for the big home run play rather than taking the yardage on the field.
