dude, I think you might be selling Detmer and Bosco short. they were two very good QBs....Detmer won a Heisman and Bosco guided BYU to the only national championship in their history. They also both went on to play for the Packers in the NFL.
If you are a J-E-T-S fan it simply doesn't work like that. We bitch and moan, and second guess every decision made (understandable, just check out the history....) and sometimes we even get soooooo frustrated that we "Quit" and "go away"........for a while, usually until game 1 of the next preseason.......then we get PULLED BACK IN. We all go through it at one point or another. Kurt will be back. Been there, done that. And so is the life of a Jets fan.....die hard to the end.
He did and I wasn't around to know enough about it or watch the games, but if you look up the history of it - that's considered one of if not the weakest national champion ever. The only ranked team they beat finished 3-7-1 in Pitt and they beat a .500 team in their bowl game. Michigan averaged 14 PPG against ranked teams that year.
Obviously, I disagree, or I wouldn't spend so much time here and elsewhere reading about the Jets, draft prospects, and football, and now that I have DirecTV, watching the Jets and the NFL Network. Many people in life have hobbies that they are passionate about, and spend as many hours as possible doing. I'm certain that if we could have, some of us, maybe a lot of us, would have become NFL football players, coaches, or Scouts or GMs. In my case, I wasn't athletically gifted enough to play organized school team football, but if I had been, I would have busted my ass chasing that dream. For those of us who love the game, but couldn't play and learn the game from the inside, that also closed the door on our becoming scouts, or coaches, and eventually GMs. That doesn't mean that we can't still enjoy learning about the game and discussing the game, and our favorite team. Because I am a teacher and coach in another area of life, I enjoy sharing what I learn and see on the internet.

What boggles my mind is sports is a leisure thing in all of our lives and we have no control over it. I learned that long ago. That’s one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is life is too short to be watching the Jets make what you may feel are the same mistakes over and over again and argue with misdirected fans about. Maybe that’s how he felt. He could be feeling sorry for us. LOL
