Easy to say, harder to do. That's why you have to make sure you have a guy who can handle the situations, they can all make a high percentage of the kicks or they're not there in the first place.

I'm not disputing their value, just the fact that they're even moderately interesting. Kickers and punters aren't required to react to a game situation or to produce a moment of talent or inspiration to transform a game, they just have to do the same thing over and over again metronomically with the exact same outcome. The only time that anything they do is worthy of remark is when they fuck it up.

Right, but the reality is they aren't perfect and shit happens. Personally, when the game comes down to a FG to win or lose I find the kicker very interesting at that point, so I'd rather have a guy who's handled some pressure before. We know they can all pretty much nail 90% or whatever on the practice field, it's the human element of the game that people overlook.

I know that Weatherford is with the Giants now. Why did we let him go? I thought he did a good job punting the past couple years. Was it money?

I appreciate an inside-the-five punt far more than I used to.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that horrible fake punt. How could I forget that? That was retarded.

Sure. Good. When your success in your role is judged almost exclusively by how infrequently you fuck up the one mechanical action to which your entire life is dedicated, you have an inherently dull job regardless of how important it is.

Not just how infrequently but in which situations. This is where stat geeks fall flat, because numbers make things look equal that aren't equal. A FG attempt to put us up 17 in the 2nd quarter in October is different than a FG attempt in the cold and wind to decide a game in December.

Yeah that was retarded. I still disagreed with the FO for dumping him. Weatherford is still a good punter.

He answered my tweet about that a month or so ago. He tweeted about what he offered potential teams to sign him, I asked if that would include calling his own fakes again, he replied "duh, haha".

He can smash the ball on Field Goals but on Kick Offs it's not as good as you would think, Either way he's the best Kicker we got.

LOL. That was my shit last year every time Folk had to kick a FG or extra point. "FUCKING NICK'FOLK!" - "NICK FOLK'S FUCKING COOL AS HELL!" - "FUCK YEA! IT'S NICK FUCKINNNN' FOLK!". Everyone in the bar would join in with me half way through the game. It so sadly hilarious watching him barley scrape the ball through the uprights that I just laugh every time I see his face. I cannot express how nervous I was watching him kick that FG at Indy. Imagine if he had not made that....but I'm glad to have to back again this year...

    ...MY KICKER

Every team will say something along those lines when asked but that sounds more like something volunteered meaning Conley is not safe by any means. I mean they didn't say Folk will be our week one kicker but we are keeping all options open even though I am sure they probably are there too.

I'll always remember Nick Folk for that kick against the Colts that got us to New England. He's earned my respect.

Neil Rackers single-handedly won me my fantasy football championship a few years ago.

I was trying to think of a non-sports job that would invalidate your argument.

    Male porn stars.
