Unreal. Talk about Luck of the Irish... What a gag job by MSU...I hate Notre Dame, would of loved to see them lose.
Any Met, Red sox, or Knicks fan wanna talk about chokejobs? Try being an MSU fan....in 15 years...I can write a book on the number of times this team has not only broken my heart...but completely embarassed me.
You weren't completely wrong. Notre Dame is a pretty flawed team, totally overrated by everyone coming into this season. They just benefitted from some really poor coaching (seriously, John L. Smith put Marty Schottenheimer to shame with the way he abandoned his offensive gameplan in the name of bleeding the clock) and some really timely big plays.
It's still pretty obvious that Notre Dame has problems. But this is very disappointing for our contingent here.
sure, notre dame is a joke and shouldn't even be ranked after tonight's performance. they got historically lucky in the 2nd half after playing a terrible game. of course they'll lose 4 and still be ranked in the top 25.
BTW, you know how Bill Simmons writes about the "Peyton Manning face" when everything starts going downhill and he knows it? John L. Smith had a Peyton Manning face on from about the time that MSU botched the extra point through the end of the game. I'm not sure he was even watching during the last drive.
by the way did anyone start laughing out loud when herbstreit was drooling over stanton on that last drive? extolling all the virtues that his mobility and ability to spread out the field helps out MSU's offense so much. at this point the only completed pass he had in the 2nd half went to ND for a TD.
Let's not forget, this was against MSU. What did he do Last week? Wah, wah waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh.. Now they have a cakewalk schedule until 11-25? And please, don't try and make Perdue out to be challenge.
Be fair to the Irish, they've probably played the toughest schedule in the country to this point in the season. If any team deserves a cakewalk opponent next week it's Notre Dame.
MSU hasn't been around at all. I was looking for him on AIM during the game, I'm sure he can't wait to get to this thread
I just finished watching the game and like I said last year I will say it again I want John L. Smith FIRED!!!!! 2nd fucking year we f*cking play not to fucking lose. WTF!!!! 2nd year in a row we should have buried the f*cking Irish and for the 2nd f*cking year in a row, we playcall like f*cking pussies. We lost just like this to UM 2 f*cking years ago! God damn the incompentance from this team ceases to amaze me. I was dreading the entire 4th quarter when we slowly went into our shell, and we f*cking blew the game. I have seen this way too many f*cking times from this team in JLS tenure, and I want him gone!!! I am going to do something, and hopefully it will make me fall asleep. Stupid F*cking idiots EDIT: Forgot to mention that after 8 carries for 111 yards we never use our power back again during our Pu$$y playcalling, for me to question whether the Cowboy has a brain in that big thick skull of his.
When your stupid coach allows him to throw it only 3 times for most of the entire 2nd half when the weakpoint of ND's pathetic defense is their passing defense, it isn't surprising that Stanton doesn't look as good in the bad weather
Our coaches are afraid to f*cking win, I am beginning to see what made the Herm haters still hate him today
The same goes for the Yankees, the Patriots, and Duke basketball. People don't like ND because so many people do like ND. We are DEFINITELY the most popular school. I don't even see how that can be argued. The closest school is Duke but people don't relate to them through their faith in the same way. I would say ask anyone in the world (except maybe you) and they will all agree with me that ND is the most popular school. At least 10% of the country (probably more) favors ND over any other school I would say. That's a huge percentage. Like I said, popularity has nothing to do with actual ability. And if billions of people around the world have never even heard of the school, then they haven't heard of any others either. I never said the world revolves around ND as you claim I have said either, but I really don't see how you can argue with me on this. ND is the most popular school in the world far and away. Duke is second, but that's not even close. I don't know how it can be any clearer. Just look at how many people hate us? That's because so many people love us.
Anyone can doubt ND right now and they have any right to. I saw someone say they played a terrible game which is just not true. They had a bad half. But if you think they looked bad in the 2nd half, you have no clue. Sure, it helps when MSU does everything they can to lose the game, but it takes two to tango and ND had to win it too. I also read that it sucks to lose on a freak interception like that, but keep in mind MSU was still behind and it's not like they had it won if it weren't for that pick. ND won that game just as much as MSU lost it. Try giving a team you hate some credit for making an incredible comeback. ND's got a long way to go but at least they've found the track. And yes, it sure does help that most of our schedule is going to be a joke and we should be 10-1 going into LA, thus putting us right back in the title hunt hopefully.
From the early 90's to Saban, to Williams and now JLS...im beginning to believe that there is a dark cloud over this program that goes far beyond coaching ability. Surely when you play the likes of Michigan, OSU, PSU and ND on a yearly basis there are going to be tough losses. But I'm sorry...in my lifetime I have watched this team almost on a year to year cycle, start off looking very good...as a top 15 program...blowing a huge lead against a marquee opponent...losing a heartbreaker and tanking the entire rest of the season. I do not believe JLS is right for this team...but until we have a mentally tough player like Vince Young(I once thought Stanton was that player) who can truly WILL the program to wins that overcome mistakes and bad luck...it doesnt matter who the coach is..we will continue to be the underachieving laughingstock chokers that we've been for so long..it's embedded in East Lansing
