I was going through their cap numbers yesterday and it took me at least 20 seconds to realize who Ahmad Gardner is.
Granted we get to see only a fraction of his plays on TV, but when a ball is thrown his way - especially this year, he is NEVER in position to make a play on the ball. He is constantly trying to play catchup to the receiver with his back to the ball, or blatantly holding - like BAD holding. I also think some of that has to do with the injuries in the secondary - to me, Sauce relies a hell of a lot on his teammates. He is no island.
Tackling is a mindset. Does not matter how much weight you can lift or how many muscles you have. Contact is a mindset, loving to smash someone, and possibly hurt yourself is almost crazy. I saw some Ryan Clark highlights… he wasn’t big… but he hit so hard that on occasions he knocked himself out. Darrel Green wasn’t big back in the day nor is DJ Reed but they will hit you.
All those players you listed are a lot more stout because they are shorter. Sauce is built like gumby. The Jets are putting him in the wrong defense that allow teams to run at him. Also, he’s had a rough couple games and suddenly the Jets fan base is done with him? So ridiculous.
