but what was awesome about it? am i the only person that thought it felt exactly like the old stadium other than the screens and the uppity areas where you can guy 18 dollar steak sandwiches? maybe i'm the only person that was looking to get a new experience out of it and i didn't. though i do have to admit, i haven't seen it during a jets game yet, only a giants preseason game and the ND-navy game, but still...the feeling i got was that more could have been bought for the money. i'm not sure why giants stadium had to go. it was behind in the times but it served it's purpose. sorry to say, but all i see this stadium doing is serving the same purpose at a higher cost with few bells and whistles to come along with it.
everything..... -my seats -the view -the venue -the tailgating I can't comment on the food....because i didn't want to eat waterlogged nachoes.....
fair enough, i guess i just didn't feel the same way. the tailgating is your own thing though. i'm just talking strictly the stadium. with that said, wtf is a waterlogged nacho because i never want to have one.
You guys bitching about the stadium will fall under the SOJF category. For years we played in a red and blue Giants stadium...now we finally have a pseudo home of our own (at least its green when we play) and you guys sound like this: WAAAAAAH the food is too expensive WAAAAAAAAH the new urinals make my small junk exposed WAAAAAAAH they raised ticket prices You're there to watch the Jets, not take your knowledge from watching HGTV and apply it to the new stadium, ya humps.
Dude, if you can't piss in those urinals, you may be the one with problems Mr. Insecure. Guess you never took a piss in the troth before they put in the urinals like the rest of the pansies that have to use the stalls to take a piss.
$800 million for a stadium we are still sharing w/ the blue/red and from my $120 seats in the upper deck, it didn't change the game-day experience for me, my dad or son, ...being a Mets fan also, I feel Citi field and food/beverages choices and game experience were worth the building of a new ballpark...
I'm not the one bitching about the new stadium. You said that you wished that there were more positives, and failed to list what you wanted to see, so I decided to start a list for you. And moron is spelled m-o-r-o-n, you moron.
I don't know what I wanted out of the stadium, so I don't have any anticipated positives either. I just know that I expected something, anything that made it feel like such a great upgrade and I just didn't see it. It's not like the old stadium was falling apart or anything like that. They just wanted to keep up with the Joneses. “It’s coming down not because it’s inadequate,” former Gov. Brendan Byrne said. “It’s coming down because it’s not [sufficiently] profitable.” That says it all right there. I just didn't see any vast improvements to the common fan other than the large screens. I consider myself easy to please, but I just know I left that stadium disappointed with the results. Just feels like an ordinary stadium from every aspect of it.
I agree and have said all along this stadium isn't impressive by any means. Cowboy's Stadium is incredible and much more impressive and it cost $300M less. I don't get where all the money went, must've gone to all the sheik clubs.
well that sums things up the cheapskates who used to sit on the 50 yard line in their red Giant colored seats for 85 bucks a game don't like the beautiful new stadium especially the urinals stay home and piss where it makes you happier thank you
or maybe that the NJ stadium was built by skilled union craftsman earning decent livings for their families as opposed to Jerry's place built by undocumented non-union mexicans earning 11 cents an hour exploitation wages
Many of of us agree with you 100% - and it's been discussed to death in the New Meadowlands Stadium thread. It's almost shocking how much this place disappoints compared to what was advertised - that's the thing. I'd imagine those who were able to remain in the lower bowl may not feel the same way because they are not subjected to the inane, poorly planned and designed, and inferior to the old stadium method of accessing and leaving the third tier. It's like they went back in time. This place is not even better than Shea in that regard. I like the food and beer choices better than before. That's it. Everything else is worse. I eagerly anticipated a better "in and out" and it has failed to delivered that which is a surprise given they started from scratch with today's security rules. The mens and ladies search lines are insane. My wife and get separated each time, causing stress. Just have a woman near each line you idiots!
Not impressed either, but what's the use complaining? At least it doesn't say Giants Stadium. That's enough for me.
