You can't expect to have an all star, top 5 guy at every single position on the O-line guys. Considering how good the rest of our line is, it could be a lot worse than Slauson. A very important part of a team is those guys who can get for the cheap and take a gamble on. The teams who get a lot of performance from their blue collar guys usually make it far (like the patriots did this year)
you want to cut a guy who was a solid starter the last two years, who is making almost nothing, just because? If nothing else, he is great depth. Even if he can't pick up the man blocking scheme, he will still be a good OL for us in a backup capacity. I can't see a single reason why we should cut him, short of his arm having fallen off in the procedure.
Better yet, let's take him out back and shoot him. That way we can guarantee that we don't get any value for his corpse other than fertilizing the astroturf on his way out. orrrrrr, we could just keep the heavily underpaid getting better every year youngster and laugh in fools faces.
