Ellis last good season was when we had Ferguson in 2004 when he had 11 sacks. Not saying Abe didn't make an impact on his play too, but when Ferguson left for the 2005 season, Ellis was mediocre, and Abe went on an had 10 sacks.
If a DL slips to us I think that's who we should pick in the first. However, if there is a CB that is rated higher I wouldn't be surprised to see us draft a CB in round 1.
if they are not going to go after the big names with the big contracts what about Shawn Springs? He could be good for a year or two. But I guess the question is would you rather have David Barrett or Springs? I can't see us having both of them.
