Don't see a high profile guy like Norv coming here. Not without one single guy on offense to build around.
Norv could coach the jets to the number one offense in the league for five years straight and would never get another HC gig again. he has already proven three times that his success as a coordinator doesn't translate to success as a HC.
Norv has proven that he is a good play caller and that when he has talent his offenses put up points with the best of them. He has a legit NFL offense. That's really all you can ask for from an OC. Two things, why did you leave out his days with the Cowboys and could you include points scored in your rankings? Yards are very important but so are points.
Cowboys are front-runners to get Norv....worked there, likes Jerry (and vice-versa), Troy Aikman, knows Jason Garrett. If Jerry fires Jason, Norv steps in. If Jets want him, they better move QUICK with a 5-year deal for $12 MM.
Holmes, Braylon, Kerley, Hill, and Cumberland I think are a better set of players then what they have in San Diego. Jets should look to draft a feature back in the draft and I think with Norv's touch this offense looks pretty decent.
Anybody see anything on why Norv would want to go to CLEVELAND as an OC ? The guy had pretty high-profile jobs before.....CLEVELAND ? Has anyone written that Norv thinks if the HC doesn't work out he might get the job ? I can understand not taking the Jets job....but Cleveland ? And with Dallas also open ?
Rob Chudzinski, his best buddy joined Cleveland as a HC. They have a history. Sucks I really wanted Norv, but hopefully MM can produce some strong offenses in a few years with the Jets.
