I understand it is a safe play for a 3-4 yard gain, and that would be a great decision, but he threw the ball for a 13-14 yard gain and a first down, that went between his #1 receiver's hands. This was a good decision too! Davis needs to catch it, that's the beginning and the end of it. Zach made a 1st down play, and Davis caused INT instead. Jenkins said, good decision, not great. Sounds about right.
My thought was Kroft the deeper option was a better decision. If he misses or drops it there is no consequence while Davis was bracketed. But, it was a good throw getting high enough over the LB and between the recievers hands and it should have been caught. Hard to fault Zach there. The great thing is everyone of these plays is a learning experience for ZW, the recievers and the coaches. I can't wait to see how much better they all are a year from now.
This may well be the goofiest take in a long line of goofy takes on Zach Wilson. It taints everything you might say about football in general...that's how bad your take is. It's Dewey Defeats Truman bad. It's Ford Edsel bad. It's Exxon-Valdez bad. It's Tiger Woods divorce bad...
It's also consistent with all his posts. He used to be a good poster now he is a lunatic that avidly roots against the Jets. He has left all logic and objectiveness behind to feed his hate of Wilson. If only he was a little smarter he would realize there are likely to be a lot more bad games this year then good ones and he should have lots of future opportunities to post his anti-Jet comments. Instead he shouts out his bias and lunacy after a good game by Zach. Yes there were a number of mistakes and a lot he needs to clean up. No one denies there is room for improvement. But he played a very good game that should give us all hope for the future while we suffer through the highs and lows of a young teams learning curve.
Brad doesn't like Wilson and you will see this shit until Wilson wina a SB with the Jets. He's a really knowledgeable poster that just goes off the rails at times. I think it's "smartest guy in the room" syndrome.
The TE could have worked too, but it is a harder throw. If you slow it down, he would have to throw it over the DB who was very close to Kroft. The separation you see was after he released the ball and DB turned. This was possible, but a much lower % play. Davis pass was a straight line - right there for him, for the first down. I agree with Jenkins that it was a good call. Check down was almost a sure thing for 3-4 yards. Could be even more, but getting a first down to your best WR I still say was a good thing. Glad to see Davis rebound yesterday, but still that slip was VERY costly and he had another dropped ball. As good as Davis was, I think he needs to do better and be more reliable in addition to making spectacular plays. Then he will be a true #1 WR.
I respect your posts and your opinion. I agree on Davis that he needs to be more reliable as do all the WRs. Of the 8 INTs 2 were dropped passes, one where Davis fell down and one where the recievers ran the wrong route. That is 4 INTs on recievers. Everyone needs to do a better job Zach, the recievers, the OL and the rbs pass blocking. Each time any of those improve everyone will benefit. We saw the OL and the rb pass protection improve this week and the result was some big pass plays. The more each of them gets better the more we will see big results like this week. These next few years should be a lot of fun.
The Jets aren't going to be all-in on Wilson next year? Wow. Just when you thought you've seen it all...... Back in reality, the Jets desperately need a playmaker at TE. God this group is depressing. Someone go to the other forum and get DWC to tweet @OleMissKenny
we could draft a TE. really good class for them in the 1st 2 rounds. also a pretty good FA class as well. here are a few names out there for 2022 ertz, ebron, cook, allie-cox, tonyon, howard, hurst, engram, njoku, gesecki, james, goedart,
The Jets are 100% in on him next year. Literally 100%. I wouldn’t even say 99.9. As usual, your posts are nonsensical and lack any type of reasoning. They are not giving up on Zach Wilson after one year.
There’s a reason none of your posts get any likes. It’s not the negativity, it’s the lack of reasoning or sense. All five first round QB will be the starters on their teams next year.
Brad, I think you've lost your mind. You can be the biggest Wilson detractor in the world and there's just absolutely no way he's not the starter next year unless he's a molester or something. The only quarterback picked in the top 15 since 2000 that did not return to the team as a starter or future starter (Rivers) is Rosen. And I guess you can argue Leinart as well since he only started five games but I'm not sure if he got hurt. That list includes Jake Locker, JaMarcus Russell, Blaine Gabbert, Joey Harrington, Dwayne Haskins, Sanchez, Christian Ponder, and more. He's the starter barring anything catastrophic and it's silly to insinuate it's possible that multiple franchises who picked in the top fifteen could move on. Play the percentages, man. It doesn't happen, period. EDIT: Sorry I didn't realize you excluded Lawrence.
