Doesn't make sense if you are All Pro and don't go to Pro Bowl. That makes Pro. Bowl just a popularity contest.

That's all it is and nothing more. The Pro Bowl has been reduced to a marketing tool for the NFL and that's all. All Pro is where it's at.

Mezz sorry to say U have been asleep at the switch. We have not won a SB since merger so how many wows do U give that? The NYJs/NYTs overall record is still under 500 so how many wows do U give for that? We have NEVER won a AFC championship so how many wows do U give for that? Excluding the 1968 team we have had only one other player in the HOF till now so how many wows does that get?

this really doesn't bother me too much. We did have a HOF skill position player during that time...
not having found a long term QB is the bigger issue.

I doubt we are the only team not to have drafted a pro bowl QB, WR or RB in a long time.

Its not even true. I know Coles made the probowl with the Redskins but he was still drafted by the Jets.

    Pats - Tom Brady
Fins - Ronnie Brown, Chris Chambers (QB's suck)
Bills - Travis Henry, Willis McGahee, Marshawn Lynch, C.J. Spiller (QB's suck)

Steelers - Ben Roethlisberger, Willie Parker, Hines Ward, Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown
Ravens - Jamal Lewis, Ray Rice
Bengals - Carson Palmer, Andy Dalton, Rudi Johnson, Chad Johnson, T.J Houshmandzadeh, A.J. Green
Browns - Braylon Edwards, Josh Gordon

Colts - Edgerrin James, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai, Andrew Luck
Jaguars - David Garrard, Maurice Jones-Drew
Texans - Andre Johnson, (Arian Foster - UDFA)
Titans - Vince Young (!), Chris Johnson

Chargers - Drew Brees, LaDainian Tomlinson, Philip Rivers, Vincent Jackson, Ryan Matthews
Broncos - Clinton Portis, Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, DeMaryius Thomas
Chiefs - Larry Johnson, Jamal Charles, Dwayne Bowe
    Raiders - No QB's, RB's or WR's, Zach Miller as a TE.

Not going to bother doing the NFC because it is abundantly clear that the Jets have been terrible at finding skill position stars over the last 14 years.

For me it's not about whether the pro bowl or all pro is a joke, marketing tool or whatever. It's having an offensive football player, at a skill position, in the discussion. If he's in the discussion then it's a good bet that he's had a pretty decent year which, in turn, would probably mean we've done a whole site better than we did in 2013....;)

Haven't you heard ? Don Maynard and George Sauer have grand kids trying out for wide receiver this year! I am breaking story tonight so the Post has some great news other than Ranger meltdown in Philly. With that gene pool Jets can't lose!!! heh.......

That stat is a overrated on many levels. There are plenty of ways to build a team, and the pro bowl itself is overrated.

The jets haven't really drafted that many skill position players high in the draft anyway. They've opted to draft defense and lineman and build around them. As a result the defenses and line has been pretty solid since 96 for the most part. I don't think there is anything wrong with that plan either.

In that time period they'vee had the greatest skill position player in franchise history in hall of famer Curtis Martin, so who gives a shit if they didn't draft him. They went out and got him. Not to mention they DID draft pro bowlers Santana moss and lav Coles.

I am not at all angry at your post. I was just trying to make a joke that's all. You and I must be the same age because we are both losing patience with owners/FO. You shouldn't think others are deluded but maybe you see other posters that way. It's ok.....

Thanks for the clarification. Yes I really do think that there are many on this board who totally turn the real facts around so they can rationalize away why the NYJs have been such crapola under now Woody & before Leon
