We used the TE to Block and the Fullback to catch passes instead of the other way around. Richie Anderson out of the backfield was basically used instead of a TE in our O. He also averaged almost double the yardage with Vinny as he did with Chad because with Chad a check down pass was 5 yards, with Vinny it was 10 yards mostly due to the fact that Vinny could rifle the ball when moving backwards or being hit, he also could get the ball out of with velocity much quicker than Chad. Chad needed clean lanes to step up and go down field, if the lane was closed he was throwing a 5 yard check down because unless conditions were perfect that's what he was capable of.
This to is right on evulation of the team right now. However, on this board cause others think as long as the player is on the NYJs they automatically become a superman & are the best of the best in the NFL
I bet if we had a Qb who could throw the ball down field or at least throw a decent 10 yard out our whole offense would look alot better though! When we jettison the weakest Linc (10) then our offense can start working on being scary!
Well there are other factors besides #10 but for sure he is a major factor. If Barnes bombs out as a blocker then our run O is right back in the same quandry it was last year even though we now have Tom Jones cause we have no run blockers on the OLine. Also we have no GAME BREAKERS or what I rather call them GAME CHANGERS on the team on either side of the ball so when we need the quick one we have NOONE to get it as well as the weakness of CPs arm also contributes to the problem so all & all it turns into a minus situation instead of a positive situation.
What is your definition of a GAME CHANGER? Seems to me we have a few on both sides of the ball. Obviously we could use some more, especially on the defensive side but to say we have none is a bit unfair.
I totally disagree on this point. Laveranues Coles, Jerrico Cotchery and Leon Washington are all capable of breaking a big play on any given play. The fact that they need to do it after the catch and not before is testament to the topic of the thread, which is that Chad does not have an arm that requires the opponent's respect.
this is spot on....i think coles has proven to make those moments happen over his career, and this past season both leon and cotch have made those plays that changed the games. as much as i like chad, i as much as i pull for the guy, i think hes taken us as far as he can...
