Blow up everything that's your solution huh genius? Please don't answer I know your history and my use of genius is purely rhetorical.
to be honest our coverage has been better since the NE game, and Lowrey will continue to improve at FS. Hell he almost won the game for us just before lossing it for us.
So we went into this game with a top rated D. What does that mean? Statistically? Maybe so, but as you can see we can't get to the quarterback. We do not have a top rated D right now
So our D had a bad game, u guys crack me up man. Held the Steelers to 17 the week before and the Dolphins to 10 before that, but the sky is falling.
To be fair Rex doesn't run a pure 3-4 defense even as a base. Regardless, it's pretty clear what the biggest need is.
There is nothing fair about an assinine post of going to a 4-3 with Rex as a coach. BTW you certainly can argue that the base D is a 3-4. The alignment changes and different looks notwithstanding.
Jets lack the ability to consistently pressure the qb without blitzing. However, all defensive schemes look good w/ pass rushers & look bad without pass rushers. Why should switching to 4-3 front seven with no pass rushers work better? btw, how many kick-ass pass rushers are there in the league? Usually when a team has a good pass rush, it's done with only have 1 dominant pass rusher who commands double or triple teams & his teammates just take advantage of the resulting mismatches.
The only thing we can hope is that Rex/Pettine have been holding something up there sleeves or can scheme up something new for the playoffs. It doesn't seem likely at this point considering the time opposing QB's have had to relax in the pocket while making a sandwhich and waiting for someone to get open. This is really discouraging to watch.
I think we can beat KC, but the way our run-D has been looking, I'd say Jamaal Charles has a fucking field day.
If we play KC then i think we will be fine. If we get matched up with Indy, Its going to be a 1 and done cluster fuck.
You mean 28 other teams who would kill to have our corners? The rest of this D doesent have alot to offer...
The D-Line(Pouha and DeVito) Arent used to being starters for a majority of a year after being strict rotation players/fill in guys for a year so its beginning to wear down on them.....hence why 3 of the past 4 games, whethers its BJGE, Mendenhall or Forte, the rushing attack has hurt the Jets and when that happens then the D has to be honest now with the pass rush and stack more men up. If you can give those 2 bigmen the rest next week, they should be refreshed up when the games become very important.
They've stopped setting the edge. Its infuriating. All of the sudden teams are running around the talented run-stopping front 3. The OLBs are showing age and wear. Its time to get a big monster OLB to fix this shit. I'm tired of watching QBs with 7 seconds to throw when the Jets don't send a DB off the edge.
last year we had jenkins collapsing the pocket, a healthy pace able to get pressure, and effective blitzes that teams didnt have a gameplan for. This offseason we need a passrushing OLB, a penetrating DL to rotate in on pass downs, and a safety that doesnt suck.
