I love that because your opinion is that this sucks, that means it sucks. I happen to be a fan of it, a big fan of it. Plenty are. I think you'd find a lot of business analysts commend the Jets for their forward thinking on this. But, as usual, Jet fans need to complain.
Who gives a shit about business analysts . I'm going to a goddam football game . Just give me a ticket and a beer and a win .
Well your "Jets screw everything up" statement is a little dumb then. They did something you don't like, that doesn't mean they screwed up. Football is a billion dollar business chief, hate to break it to you, and it's weird that you don't know by now.
It's a game . I don't care about the business end . Just get me another home playoff game before I die .
And you for some reason unbeknownst to me think this whole card thing is taking away from football? What do you think Idzik and Rex sit in on rewards program meetings instead of run practice and review film? This is not your thread man.
Please explain how the Jets business executives reducing paper tickets is going to change anything about our product on the field? I don't see the correlation. I give a shit about going green because the future of the human race is more important than a football game or even a Superbowl ring.
It is what it is. It's only a matter of time before other teams start going the paperless ticket route. The jets just happened to be one of the first to give it a try. Honestly, if the jets have a good season STHs are going to want to go all these home games instead of trying to sell them for below face because we are having a shitty season. STH will get over not having hard tickets. AND . . . if you really want you can buy a hard ticket at the game, you can in the gift shop . . .
The idea behind this is not really to "go green" and save the paper that the tickets are printed on. They want to add incentives for season ticket holders to attend games and not sell the tickets. In the old stadium in the Meadowlands, if you had season tickets, for the most part it'd be the same people there game after game in your section- year after year. What I've heard from season ticket holders now is that every time you go, 80% of the people in your section are people you've never seen before, or at least don't recognize. Since they're not going to get rid of PSLs, the rewards system is the way for them to reward fans who loyally attend every game by giving them the chance to meet players, get to be on the field when the team is entering, etc. It's weird that people are so upset that the Jets are rewarding season ticket holders. I guess if enough people asked (for example, at the call-ins where season ticket holders can talk to Idzik, Ryan, and Johnson) they'd probably be willing to sell $1 commemorative tickets or something, with the 98¢ profit going to some sort of charity that buys forests to protect them from logging, and then people's scrapbooks would be unaffected. Even if they don't do that, you can still print tickets out.
And neither is their play on the field. With going green, every little bit helps. If the Jets do it, it's a good start and likely other teams will begin to follow. Besides it probably costs just as much to program a card as it does just to print 10 tickets. You really think the Jets are saving massive amounts of money with this? GET REAL !!!
The problem here is you think "going green" somehow impedes this goal. Why can't you answer any posts addressing your awful viewpoint?
The main objective of a team in the National Football League is to win the Super Bowl . The Jets ownership does not seem to grasp this idea . They spend more resources on inconsequential crap than on the objective of winning the Super Bowl . Granted , the ownership wants to make a profit but they always seem to forget the main objective .
So let me get this straight... you think this whole season ticket holder/reward cards thing is taking away from the Jets becoming a better team? Please just tell me that's what you actually think so we can all laugh and move on.
Wrong. You're putting the cart before the horse. The main purpose of a business is to maximize profits and grow the value of the enterprise. In the case of an NFL team, winning a Super Bowl will be a major asset in maximizing profits and raising value. Don't ever make the mistake that you as a fan and ownership have the same goals.
I've been going to Jet games since Shea stadium . When you guys have 30 years in of attending games , comeback and see me . At this point , WINNING is all that matters .
Are you ever going to address how exactly this "going green" thing takes away from winning football games? Do you honestly think the front office is working on this? Do you know anything about a business? There are departments that work on different things. Would the cashier work on fixing your car muffler, or would he just stand behind a desk while a mechanic works on it?
