I guess I can understand the decision to pull Glavine, with the bases loaded there, but I still thought it was strange. He had a 4-hitter going and a low pitch count.

Well, maybe now if it goes to Game 5, Glavine can come back on short rest.

It was a 2 run game and Glavine had thrown almost 100 pitches, there's no way you can send him up to hit in that spot.

He had a 4-hitter going. The more surprising there is to yank him during a shutout. He was only on 93 pitches. It wasn't like he was out of fuel.

But I can understand why Willie did it.

And aside from the 2-0 lead, the best part is...

watching every yankee fan on nyyfans.com cry their eyes out. Hysterical!

I mean, I know you've watched Mets games this year, Glavine at or near 100 pitches is never a good thing. Thankfully he didn't repeat his mistake of yesterday so maybe he is learning.

Honestly, even if Glavine had usually pitched well over 100 pitches, I'd like to take him out. The Mets only have three pitchers who have pitched any significant amount for the team this year--Glavine, Maine, and Traschel. Keep those three as fresh as possible, especially with this bullpen performing the way it has. If these guys tire as the PO's go on, forget it.

Just got back from Shea... great game. The crowd was not as hyped as last night and we didn't have a parking lot fire but the LIRR was much more organized so that made the late night trip home a lot easier.

Got home a little while ago from Shea. Fun, nicely unexciting, game. The bus incident with Lofton was pretty funny, and in fact the HR did almost hit it.

Did they ever say on the broadcast why Little came out after the first pitch to Furcal to talk to the home plate umpire?

So far all of the pundits predicting easy series victories for the Dodgers, Twins, and Padres don't look too good, do they?

I thought pulling Glavine was absolutely the right thing to do - this keeps him fresher for a game 5 start (which of course won't be necessary, right?)

Only a moron would have predicted an easy Padres win.

I heard its only a 4 p.m. start if there is a Yankees game 5. If there isn't a game 5, the Mets would play at 7:30
