Hey i think im starting to like eric byrnes. Hes pretty funny and energetic and even implemented a m-e-t-s mets mets mets chant.. An obvious reference to the highlights of the jets game they just covered on fox. Maybe he should just quit baseball and become an analyst

Terrible inning for Reyes here - the Mets HAVE to make him pay.

And they don't, as Wright once again fails at an important moment.

    I have a baseball question.

There is a runner on 1st base.
The next batter hits it straight to the second base man who catches it. Can the 2nd base man deliberately drop the catch in order to make a double play?

Delgado drops the throw from Reyes on the deflected shot to Wright. Fox just showed a graphic that the Mets have only given up one unearned run this postseason, which is amazingly misleading - the Mets defense has been awful this postseason, something they couldn't afford.

Yes, on either a line drive or a popup. The idea is that if the hitter doesn't run the play out, he deserves to be doubled up. On the other hand, on a popup with men on 1st and 2nd or bases loaded you can't do it, since that would be unfair to the runners, who should be holding up.

Perez gets out of it with a DP.

    Everyday Endy with a single.

The only question for next year is whether he'll be starting in LF or starting in RF.

Gotta tell you, what I was thinking was that I would take the exact same kind of game, if there was the same result. At this point, beggars can't be choosers.

McCarver with a good point about wasting speed in the 8 hole in the NL, but he missed the real point - Chavez should be batting 7th, or even 6th, not 8th.

Reyes going to be over 50 pitches through 2 innings here. The Mets have GOT to start putting some hits together.

2nd inning in a row they put 2 men on base and can't do anything

absolutely miserable AB from reyes there, the guy walks the pitcher and you're chasing 3 pitches out of the strike zone.

Reyes swings at a pitch 6" out of the strike zone to pop out.

The fact is that they don't deserve to win this series the way they are playing.
