It was supposed to be. Everything I wrote heretofore in this thread was ridiculous. The elephant comment was originally written by me two years ago on some blog that I was ruining. I wrote all manner of bizarre things under hundreds of assumed names, many of them explicit in nature. Tressel has six national titles? Not in Football Bowl Subdivision. Most people don't care about the lower level shit.
I kinda want them to win so that way I can watch them get destroyed in the national championsip game, seriously even if they played LSU they would get beat pretty bad
Well they are definitely getting the calls vs Iowa today. Iowa recovered a fumble in Penn States Endzone for a TD.... NOPE. They not only said that PennSt. recovered so a safety right? NOPE...They said it was at the 1 !! Wow, simply Horrible! And now on consecutive 3rd downs they're getting flags... Very Notre Damish officiating going on.
Iowa's first win in 18 years against a top 10 team. That basically knocks Penn State out because several teams are going to be ahead of them. Alabama and LSU are tied now. Huge game, of course.
It would have been a storybook ending if Joe pa's team could have pulled it off in his final year as a coach. I mean the guy is a freaking icon in the game of college football. Regardless of if they would have got there asses kicked in the title game or not. But alas it all came to an end at Iowa. I guess I am just a sentimental fool.
That was clearly your fanhood talking. When they showed the endzone replay the ball was in the Hawkeye's arms. So at the least it was their ball @ the 1. But hey, They scored the TD right after that and Justice was served! Marshmallows on the House! The refs did their part. PS couldn't hold it....
I've been bitching about the no-call on intentional grounding for the past few days. I have no idea how they could not call that, and WHY DIDN’T PSU CHALLENGE! That is one of the few challengable penalties in football. Also, the PI was undefendable. From definition of terms: © Defensive pass interference is contact beyond the neutral zone by a Team B player whose intent to impede an eligible opponent is obvious and it could prevent the opponent the opportunity of receiving a catchable forward pass. From interpretation of rules: Actions that do not constitute pass interference include but are not limited to: (a) Incidental contact by a defender’s hands, arms, or body when both players are competing for the ball, or neither player is looking for the ball. If there is any question whether contact is incidental, the ruling shall be no interference. (d) Laying a hand on a receiver that does not restrict the receiver in an attempt to make a play on the ball. (e) Contact by a defender who has gained position on a receiver in an attempt to catch the ball. Note 1: If there is any question whether player contact is incidental, the ruling should be no interference. Note 2: Defensive players have as much right to the path of the ball as eligible offensive players. That’s not PI, clear and simple. Scirotto went up BEFORE THE RECEIVER DID! He was up in the air, and the receiver backed into him. Therefore, under (e) he had gained position. By (a) Scirotto’s hands were the only contact and they were reaching for the ball. Lastly, by (d) the ball was uncatchable. No, it’s not PI. Unless it’s clearly PI, then it’s not. HOWEVER Penn State makes the MNC if the following happens: Florida loses to South Carolina next week...drops to #8 USC loses to Notre Dame drops to #8 Texas Tech loses to Oklahoma drops to #6 Oklahoma loses to Baylor drops to #7 Alabama loses to Mississippi State drops to #6 Missouri loses to Kansas drops to #14 Utah loses to BYU drops to #14 Texas loses to TAMU drops to #6 Alabama beats Florida in SEC Championship Game jumps to #3 Texas Tech beats Mizzou in Big XII championship game I think that is the only potential scenario where Penn State makes the Championship Game
They haven't said yet. I'm torn on who I'd like to play. I think USC would be a better game because we already slaughtered Oregon State 45-14 Sept 6.
