Cook? What's your point? This is about Wilson - no one else. Attempting to change the subject does not forward your viewpoint.
the point is 2 years ago doesn't matter. what matters is who gives us the best chance to win on sunday. those are the players you play.
the difference is we have 9 games of zach film this year we don't have any boyle film after that to judge. so the question is "could he be better then he was 2 years ago" boyle is in his late 20s and been in the NFL 5+ years (and he sucked in college too) while zach is 24 and in year 3. boyle isn't getting any better then we seen at this point
You're the one who brought up 2021! Now it doesn't matter? Come on, man - a little consistency, please!
The difference is we have 9 games of terrible film on Zach in 2023, and 2 more years of the exact same footage. We have virtually no tape of Boyle because he’s a PS level player, and past tape of below mediocre play from Simien. Great job on resting on that JD. It’s pretty clear we need to flip the page to the below mediocre tape with Simien, because that’s better than anything we’ve seen from Zach. It’s also pretty clear that with no QB change the season is already shot, and with QB change based on our options, the season is still likely shot. This was was always clear to me, which is why I been so baffled by the inaction.
because any team that loses a HOF QB making almost 40mil a year is fucked unless they magically have a brock purdy waiting on the bench. The bills are 5-5 with allen, imagine if allen went down. they'd be looking at a top 3 pick. if mahomes went down chiefs would be lucky to be 4-5 like we are. The idea that starter quality QBs are willing to be backups to a HOF QB is kinda insane. it's very rare for a top tier QB to have a starter quality behind them because that starter quality player wants to start somewhere
Mike White came in and while the results weren’t great the offense actually resembled an offense. He hit the high percentage passes unlike ZW. In his 8 games as a Jet he threw for just about half the number of TD’s Wilson has in 31, averaged 100 more yards per game, and took like half the number of sacks. They played with the same people. The offense loved one of them. Not so much the other. Boyle and Semian aren’t physically gifted like Wilson is but it doesn’t matter how gifted he is if he can’t help convert 3rd downs and score in the Red Zone. Barring a successful brain transplant Zach Wilson will never get it done here.
How's THIS for a stat on this season's futility? Tommy DeVito has played two games, and has one less touchdown than Zach Wilson does. I guess DeVito is surrounded by superstars?
We all know zach won't get it done. but boyle came in and was worse, against a prevent defense in a blowout. if he can't move the ball in garbage time how's he going to do it during a game?
