I think it would be pretty cool if somebody would give her a shot to play-- If not in the NFL, then in the CFL/UFL/Arena/whatever. Back when I was in the Army, I used to train soldiers to box. Between the ring and our combatives training over the years, I saw several females open a can on males. The Army--the ultimate equal opportunity: no gender separation, no weight classes. Train to survive, not to win a fair fight.
She's a talented girl. She Clean and Jerks over 315 pounds; and has an outside shot at a medal in London. Go Holly!
^^^lol She's a babe - funny and down to earth. Hope Mangold wins girl-gold in London '12, falls in love and has a great life.
Disgusting...fat people are just as bad as smokers in their blatant disregard for their own health and well being.
Except that second hand fat can't hurt you. Tell me you wouldn't fuck a fat chick (with a pretty face) on a big waterbed if given the chance...
His kin folk? LOL That is classic! I'd go skinny dippin' with her and Jethrene in the ceement pond any time... but no cannon balls... while granny fetches us up a batch of crawdads.
Obesity and smoking related illnesses are two of the most expensive health care costs that we all pay for as taxpayers. For the record I would never hit anything like that on a waterbed...disgusting
Your a moron and have no idea what heavy weight lifters need to do to get there bodies big enough to lift massive amounts of weight. One thing for certain, Holly can aways loose the weight, you on the other hand, are stuck with your ignorance for the remainder of your life !!!!!! Go Holly bring home the Gold and TY for you efforts to represent your county in the best tradition of the of this nation......
Holley Mangold is only "fat" and "unhealthy" in the same sense that Vince Wilfork and Casey Hampton are. Being that large has negative long term health effects that are well documented, but in many ways they are some of the most athletic, physically gifted human beings on this planet. When you say that obesity is one of the most expensive health care costs for tax payers, you are mostly referring to people who have difficulty getting out of bed and walking up a flight of stairs because of how disproportionate their body weight is to their muscular strength. Most "obese" people would struggle to squat 100 lbs, much less 525 like Holley can, so lumping her in with all of those other people is very misleading. She is very much a unique individual when you look at her from a medical point of view. I am guessing that with the constant attention her diet, fitness, weight, health, etc. receive, her health care burden on tax payers is barely any greater than the average American.
Well the fact that shes rich (after all shes Mangolds sister and an Olympic athlete) means shes not a burden on tax payers at all. Usually thats designated to the poor slobs. Also its NOT only talking people who have trouble getting out of bed and all that. The fact is like 2/3rds of Americans are obese. Heart disease, diabetes, joint injuries (osteoarthritis) all huge problems, cost hundreds of billions of dollars. You dont have to be a 600 pound slchop who cant fit through a door frame to be at ultra high risk, being 275 pounds with a high body fat puts you at high risk for all of these things. Ill also finally add that the fact that shes an olympic athlete means nothing. Ill presume you have no idea who Dave Tate is, so just to give a great example http://www.t-nation.com/free_online...=6B3F9D506C1D0BEF62AB6F82281B7A0F-mcd02.hydra Being a world class athlete doesnt mean that the high body fat wont have a negative impact on your health.
Olympic athletes are not rich by any sort of general rule. Many participate in sports where the only time that they are likely to receive wide exposure is every four years... at the Olympics. However, I would guess that Mangold's health care is mostly provided by world class professionals who are paid for by someone other than taxpayers. We agree that Mangold likely is not a huge tax burden, as the other poster was implying. Also, I didn't say that only obese people who are weak and lazy are health risks. I said that the majority of the obese population is represented by these people. Mangold is a very unique medical specimen, so if you are going to criticize her for being fat and unhealthy, the least you can do is take that into account. All of the disorders/diseases that you mentioned are largely caused or affected by diet and exercise - areas where Mangold likely cannot be compared to the average obese American. I briefly skimmed through the article that you linked. One thing that stuck out to me was that he was "infamous for his ridiculously bad eating habits, well-known for taking pride in eating the worst foods known to mankind" Again, I am not saying that an elite-level athlete cannot live an unhealthy lifestyle. I am saying that you cannot just blindly compare an Olympic athlete to an average person with the same height/weight measurements and assume that they share similar health/risk profiles.
Props to gopats88 for being both right and reasonable. Rare traits among either Pats or Jets fans. Ultra-rare whenever the two cross paths.
I'm pretty sure being this big runs in the Mangold family. Even if she went on a crazy diet and got the stomach surgery I'm sure she'd still be really big by an average person standard
She's not bigger than Mangold. Not even close. He towers over her. She is cool though. And whoever thinks she is "rich" is full of crap - she works for a caterer and lives in a laundry room to save $.
