If you are going to say the policy of doing and saying anything led to the failure last season you have to give credit to that same policy for the success the previous two years. Remember, the craziest the Jets media circus got was in 2010-2011 season with DUI, feet, Spanish reporter, Hard Knocks, 45-3, 10-6, personal with me and Peyton, Brady is an asshole, Bart Scott saying Welker needs to watch himself, etc etc. I also think its wrong that the policy led to the downfall last season. Maybe the 7th or 8th most important reason.
This just in Cro wants to skip a few days of practice to watch one of his kids play in a little league playoff game. Oh and I just heard that Holmes' girlfriend needs his support at her new art show opening, so he is gonna split cortland for a few days. Everybody cool w/that?
Ah yes, because a little league playoff game is the same as the OLYMPICS? Right? Are you fucking serious? If you cannot differentiate the difference between a little league playoff game, an art show and the fucking OLYMPICS, then I feel really sorry for you.
Olympics vs art show vs little league. Please tell me you were using exaggeration and truely don't believe those 3 events are similar in stature.
It doesn't matter anyway its only a few days missing camp and its a really important family event that the player feels he must attend to support his loved one. Its the Rex Ryan Jets - everybody gets to do and say whatever the hell they want to do or say. Who cares about the team, just do whatever the hell you like and try to be at practice and training camp when its convenient as long as it doesn't throw a crimp into your personal life.
Abdul, I understand your point -- but the reality of the situation is that it's just not like that. Ie: if you give one guy a pass to leave, then everyone else will be looking for a excuse to leave training camp. But trust me, there are VERY few excuses that will excuse you from TC other than family emergencies, etc. But trust me, 98% of the population would understand if you say "Hey, I have a loved one in the Olympics, is it okay if I take 3-4 days off to see them compete? It's a once in a life time opportunity..?" (** Oh, and in this case, keep in mind this is coming from the best offensive player on the team**), would you as an employer really say so? Go fuck yourself? You lack dedication and focus? Yet again, you're using inappropiate exerggation to prove your point. Nobody can do what they want, I'm sure if Holmes decided to leave practice to go get some ice cream or to "go to see his sons little league play off game", I can feel pretty assured Rex would laugh in his face. You seem to have no understanding the importance or stature of the Olympic games. It's a one in a life time event, and it's for a member of the team who has always proven time and time again of his excellence and consistency. Furthermore, not only did Mangold say no initially, but he was pushed by his TEAM MATES, AND his coaches. Nobody on that team thinks he's "getting a freeby on practice" because of this, because they realize how important an event like this is.
A sister is blood and always will be - A wife you will just be paying Alimony in a couple of years. I think your comments may be the stupidest thing I have ever read on these boards. Mangold is going to SUPPORT his sister in her dreams not just to watch.
You are entitled to your opinion. As am I. This team sucked and imploded last season. The do anything you want and say anything you want policy produced an 8-8 record with temper tantrums, a locker room out of control and arguing in the huddle. Failure. Mangold is not the first person in the history of the NFL to have important family events occur during TC. He should have stayed in camp.
Dude, Mangold is such a slacker. Guy went to see his sister compete in the Olympics. The fuck is this bum thinking? Mangold is the reason Holmes got injured - pass it on.
Can't blame Mangold, it sounds like Rex basically pushed him to go. Cro does go to his kids little league games... they just have to point out which kid is his when he gets there.
Yeah Rex is a slacker too. Fucking guy can't even do sit-ups to lose a beer belly. This team is in shambles.
I can't put him on my ignore list. He may start babbling about aliens or dinosaurs or something. That would be funny.
No, actually I can blame Mangold. He chose to leave TC and go to the olympics. Rex pushing Mangold to leave TC is on Rex. But we didn't win the freaking SB last yr. We sucked and in particular, the OL sucked. So I would hope that the HC would be more concerned w/his failed job performance and his failed OL performance last season than he is w/whether Mangold attends the Olympics. I hope Mangold has a good time partying at the Olympic village. But I don't see how this helps make the Jets a better football team, which I naively think is the purpose of TC.
i had to read one more post. How come you're not bitching that Brandon Moore is in Canton for the HOF ceremony today? And if this was a bunch of players leaving at random for mundane little events, then maybe you'd have a point. But he's going to London for a few days to watch his sister compete in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
Okay.... joke? My point was that it isn't a biggie if the coach tells you to go. The Cro stuff was the dig... :breakdance:
Maybe it's a Tapatalk glitch, but the Cro thing wasn't there when I saw your post. But shut up anyway.
