Fairbanks is interesting....the 1st in a long-line of NFL coaches who went (back) to college and found out that they should have stayed in the pros. Ray Perkins is another who threw away (Giants) immortality for a failed fling at his alma matter. Holtz was right to go back, of course.

I'd have to give the nod to Kotite, he at least had some success with the Eagles. Holtz was only good in college ball.

 

All I know of this season is my Dad telling me Holtz had the players trying to sing in the locker room, and that he was so in over his head he quit before the season ended.
