If they do this, atleast give the teams the play International games a bye week after their game. If not, i bet that the teams will surely lose the next week if they play

In the article I read last month when they were discussing this, it stated that the international games would take place in october because that is the month most teams have byes and the two teams would have their bye week after the international game. That gives them 2 weeks to get adjusted.

I love the idea. This is going to help expand this sport worldwide...

Playing 2 games every 16 years overseas will not affect teams and their rankings much!!!

    It very much could.
If a team is fighting to stay alive and they must travel to europe with only 6 or 7 games remaining that could ruin their season. Who wants to travel to europe to play a game? It takes a day to get there, then when you get there you are never right. It usually takes about 3 days to feel normal (and thats traveling from the east coast). It throws you off big time.
And not to mention it could be a home game they take away.

The NFL isnt a world sport, this is just about money. Until this is a world sport than this move makes no sense. The NFL cares more about $$$ than they do about their teams and even state of balance.

This is completely F***ing lame. Teams are going to be losing home field advantage so the NFL can market their product to uninterested markets. Lame lame lame.

Exactly, whenever I go to Europe it takes me a few days to return back to normal and lsoe the jetlag. This is just gonna wear players out, and this wont help expand the nFL much, until the NFL is big in Europe this isnt a good idea.

Most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. For our overseas friends...sorry..not meant to disrespect you guys...but this is what you get when executives in NFL offices have much to much time on their hands.

We just had this discussion in tbj's thread for Ben Graham. I think all of the fans abroad would just like to see the games on TV instead. Give them the games first..let the people start to enjoy it and pick a team.

Imagine if we miss out on the playoffs by 1 game, due to missing a hoem game and losing the game a week after the trip? I would riot. Again, to our fans overseas, its not anything against you or where they are playing the game.(I love Europe) Its just this messes things up within the league and its about the money, at the expense of fair play.

On one hand, it's not a big deal, but at the same time it is. There are a lot of uncertainties with this:

    1) Scheduling: The travel and the long term impact it could have on players can be significant. It can disrupt momentum, literally take away a home game since you don't have fan support, etc. These int'l games should only be between Weeks 4-9 so it doesn't get in the way of the stretch run. And teams should be given the option of whether or not they want their bye in the week before or after the int'l game. It's only fair

    2) Fan support: A lot of the main points for fan support have already been covered, but there is also this: Say you're a Cowboys fan in Miami. Under this scheduling system, Dallas only comes to your town once every 8 years. If one of those AFC-NFC games get moved, you're skrewed for a total of 16 years. For a national game like football is in this country, that is not acceptable.
