But the thing is, you're not watching the games "live", you are watching them on your computer.

$350 is a little steep for me. I will watch the games at a bar when I'm not in town to go to the stadium.

The problem is, Champ, that between the kids and wife...we have EVERYTHING. Ughhhh...every pay channel available. HBO, Showtime...etc...etc....those really add up. There in lies the problem. If it were up to me basic would be the name of the game. But...ce la vie. lol lol

Actually, it does kind of work out though...we don't really go anywhere...TV is our entertainment. My wife is a Biologist and I couldn't begin to tell you the last time we were at a movie theater...and NOW...they report that folks are getting Bed Bugs in the movie theaters!!! Hell, I might as well strap myself to the house. lol lol

    Huh?

You do realize the season is more than 1 month long, correct?

If he paid $180 for the full season, he'd be paying $236 for the basic TV package over those 4 months as well. There are deals for longstanding subscribers and for new subscribers. The standard price for NFL Sunday Ticket is $300 + $50 for online service if you have DirecTV.

    I don't know about you...but I can drop $350 in a bar in 3 trips with food and drink...STILL a better deal...

I live in a college town and on Sundays it's $1 singles/$2 doubles/$1 drafts. I probably spend $12-15 on booze and another $10 on food. I understand it's not like that in most places.

same thing for me, I called to cancel and they knocked off $120 so I am getting it for $180.

Maaaannnn...I'm moving to your town! lol lol

I guess I should be clear...it wouldn't just be me...but my wife too...maybe a friend or two...but food along would come out to $60-$70 each trip. But, I feel you...if you can go cheaper at the local pub...then by all means that is what works. ;-)

Then again, I live in 49'er/Raider country...good LUCK getting them to put on a Jets game. he he he he he

Yeah, as long as you keep your account in good standing, they'll give you a better price. The only way to make it really tough to get the $180 price is if you consistently cancel your account or are late on payments.

I know a couple of people who cancel DirecTV every January and turn it back on in the fall. They've never been able to get a discount when they call.

LOL. There's nothing to get into. You made it sound like he'd only be paying $239, and therefore a much cheaper than the online package. I'm telling you that even if he were able to get the discount, he'd be paying $180 + $236 (59 x 4 months). 416 is no longer cheaper. That was all I was pointing out to you.

That I do not know. I have TW cable so if I did not have the Sunday tix I would not have had no access to the NFL network. In fact I already have the VCR/DTV converter geared to tape tonites game tomorrow @ 0600 my time. IMHO for the money it is the best bargain for any FB lover. Just think for $180.00 I am getting 17 weeks of live FB games. Say average 12 games per week that equals about $1.50 per game. Now where lse can U get such a bargain? I also signed on for another converter so I watch 2 live games at any time. They charge me a additional $1.30 per week for the 2nd converter

He said he chucked cable TV so that would be $59.00 each & every month not just the 4 month trial period. If you cost out Sunday tix @ &180.00 for the season then factor in 12 months X $60.00 for basic coverage his yearly total is $900.00. Then divide that by 12 months & your cost for basic + Sunday tix is around $80.00 per month for 12 months

Ahhhh...got you! Fortunately, AT&T includes the NFL network...thank the lord! I need at least a minimum of football fix each day. I've been doing a ton of research and I think I'm ready to roll for the season. woo hoo!! I think this year is going to be a good one...Revis not showing up withstanding. lol

    Huh?

At $20 per 16 weeks, that comes out to $320 per season. I am sure you are driving to your bar, so over the course of 4 months that would equal at least one tank of gas which will easily put you over the $350 mark.

Plus you don't need to leave home and all you need to do is take a video cord from your laptop and plug it into the flat-screen tv and now you have NFL game day at home.

I am overseas and I have NFL Game Pass for $280 for the season and that includes all the pre-season games. I just plug the s-video from my laptop into the tv and an audio jack to the surround sound and I can watch every game while sitting on the couch. I can pause the game at any time and once I am done watching the Jets, I can watch any other game I want as well.

You nailed it right Klecko....unless you've got an outdated computer, you can hook it up right. Off my laptop I have a HDMI connection. So full HD. You are overseas? Where you at? Glad you can get all the games...makes time go when you can get some good ole' fashioned American football each week. ;-)

I am south of the border. I am two hours behind as well, so I get the Jets each week 2 hours early!!! My internet connection is just good enough so the picture looks better on the 42 inch wide screen than regular cable tv. I used to have DirecTV before we moved and was very happy when NFL.com launched Game Pass. They also give you last year's games as a bonus + the NFL Network, America's Game, etc. You just click on what you want to watch and it is there. During the draft, I watched it on ESPN and then had the laptop on with NFL Network streaming live.

I got a free month trial for Uverse. My problem was that I had more devices then they allowed & the additional cost for the xtra devices drove Uverse costs higher then I now pay TW so I cancelled it.

Well if we have to go with Coleman, Lowry & Coles we sure as hell better develop a rush otherwise those guys will be sliced & diced just as Manning did to them. U know we play some pretty good upper class QBs this season

    Favre
    Rogers
    Rothy
    Palmer
    Flacco
    Brady

Just to name some of them so the DBF will have to produce or it will be the same as the AGCG game last year 2nd half sorry to say. We got lucky that the Mia game is at nite because day games down there in Sept are brutal. I know I use to live there

This is the greatest news for me in the last 10 years! I would pay almost anything if this is legit and I can watch all games at home in HD!!!
