we have only played at oak 3 times in the loast 8 seasons but it does feel like more b/c of that stretch btw '99 & '03 where we played there 7 times in 5 seasons.
Can someone please tell me why the fuck Jets-Titans was chosen for MNF? I was hoping to have my bachelor party in Nashville over the weekend of that game, and this fucks everything up.
So wait, you're telling us the NFL schedule makers did not consult with you about your bachelor party plans before making the schedule? I mean, WTF? I blame Tebow.
So in other words we have played at Oakland ten times in thirteen seasons? That's only 3 times less that we've been to Buffalo or Miami. I'm guessing we have had one home game against the Raiders over that span? Maybe two?
The more I look at the schedule, the more I like the bye week right in the middle of the season. Its a good marker to judge to the team from a fan perspective. I also like how its before our Seattle game as many posters have mentioned already
Line-dancing at the bachelor party for the win! Seriously, a bachelor party in Nashville sounds like hella fun. So here's what you do: have your mates take 3 days off from work for the party and related festivities. Take the red-eye down Thursday night. Friday spend the day scouting for the party locations(s) and eat ribs a couple of times to line the ol' stomach well. Find a few strippers (or just Hooter's girls if you're planning the morally proper and not fun type of BP) who can line-dance for the party. Saturday party-time! Sunday recovery in the suite and watch some NFL games with at least two good games on the box because the Titans play on Monday night. Monday go eat some more ribs with the stomach recovered from the party and then go to the game. Tuesday fly out early and be back for work on Wednesday.
We ended the season in '06 with a home game against Oakland to get into the playoffs with Mangini coaching. That's the only game I can think of that has been home against Oakland. There was an OT game I believe with Favre QBing that the Jets lost and shouldn't have in Oakland. I remember the Sanchez hot-dog game out west. And then of course there was last year.
I don't mind the bye and the 2nd half of the season at all. The Pats are pretty much as screwed as we are by the Thanksgiving game,
If the Jets could get out of those first five games at 3-2, they could be in really good shape with how soft the schedule gets down the stretch.
Yep, winning early next year solves a host of problems. When the Jets change offensive schemes they don't tend to win early though.
... might be different however, because you are going from a scheme that obstinately refused to take advantage of the skills of the players in it, was designed and implemented before the current key players in it were there, and was entirely overly complex to a simplified scheme designed FOR the players currently in it, that will hopefully take advantage of the personnel in place IN game. Hopefully makes for a smoother transition.
Subtract 2 vacation days, add a fishing trip and a trip to the Jack Daniel's distillery and that was pretty much the plan! It's really about the time off, was hoping to keep it to a single vacation day.
