I wouldn't be too quick to say that they are desperate to get rid of him as soon as possible, and with his bad knee they won't get much for him
You are correct...if we are getting Daunte for a 3rd rounder....thats a good deal IMO. Maybe its a conditional pick...that way we protect ourselves from him getting hurt again...
a 3rd for daunte isnt gonna kill me. make it conditional if he doesnt play 8 or more games it becomes a 6th
I don't care if we get Culpepper for a 7th, I don't want him on the Jets. No need for another QB with injury questions, and who won't come cheap contract wise.
Why is it crazy talk? He will most likely want a huge contract. Maybe you mean the 7th rounder thing, okay, that was kind of silly.
I'm with NYJ2K06. I wouldn't want Culpepper, even for a 7th rounder. Big contract, and his coming off an injury that totally destroyed his knee. His base salaries in the upcoming years are obscene, and from what I've heard, there is a $6M option that has to be paid by the team acquiring him, meaning he would count $16M on the cap this year ($10M base salary.) Besides, even without the knee injury, I don't think he will be the same QB without Moss, as he proved last year before the injury.
That part yes...very silly How can he request a big contract? He just got one with the Vikings...If anything he might be forced to rework his deal before joining us. Plus the trade will probably be for a conditional pick so if he blows we will not get hurt by it. Like I said, I am not crazy about the trade, but if the Jets think he can come back and we aren't giving up much (unless he plays awesome) then whats the biggie?
Yeah, I forgot how horrible he played in 2005 before his injury. Thanks for reminding me of that. Another reason why I have no interest in him.
If that is the way his contract is set up he will have to renegotiate...he won't go to anybody costing 16 million dollars...
lol daunte has no leverage he wants out bad. he is gonna have restructure his contract to fit anyteam that gets him. and plus he represents himself
Will Culpepper be traded tonight? Will he really be traded tonight and what would the Jets have to give up for him?
Ever watch a Vikings game? They have ZERO, and I mean ZERO ground game...the defense knew he was going to throw...I am not defending him for last year because he was God awful, but the guy was playing with a shiesty offense...losing Matt Birk hurt them... If he missed Moss so much then why didn't he struggle in 2004 when Moss was hurt?
Did you really need to make this thread? My guess is that he will be traded sometime tonight, but we won't hear about it until tomorrow... I am betting that he goes to Miami for a conditional pick...
