It's news when a vaccinated person get Covid-19. It's just another day at the races when an unvaccinated person gets it.

The other thing of course is that outcomes are very different for vaccinated and unvaccinated. The vast majority of hospitalizations and deaths at this point are in the unvaccinated cohort and that is both by percentages and raw numbers.

When Kay Ivey is begging people to get vaccinated that tells you something.

The problem is we do not know. The numbers are not being reported so people get vaccinated.

The ironic part is the NFL is one of the least at risk groups for this virus. I can understand why a healthy 20 something would not want the vaccine especially if they already had Covid.

Like 750 people died from COVID in the last month in Texas. If only 7 of those were fully vaccinated, then it's proving the point that vaccination works.

That link says 0.5% of the deaths in Texas since February were from vaccinated individuals. The facts are there for everyone to see and the vaccine is free of charge

again- pretty funny that guys that bash their heads in for a living are worried about the health effects of a vaccine.

They maybe worried the effect the vaccine would have to perform the job. Yes, A little ironic.

The vaccine may have some benefits that help people survive a COVID infection. However, it doesn't prevent someone from becoming infected, or prevent them from transmitting it to other people. Isn't that what the real concern is - transmission. Yet we are told its become a pandemic of the unvaccinated, even though the vaccinated catch it and transmit it. Singling out the unvaccinated is propaganda. The benefit of the vaccine is survival, not immunity.

There is also data coming back that the vaccine may only be effective the first few months before waning. This will not surprise me as it will give drug dealers the opportunity to sell more drugs in the form of booster shots. We should take into account that we are in the middle of the biggest drug deal in history.

Who are you going to believe, Ouchy or the CDC and your own lying eyes?

CDC COVID-19 Study Shows mRNA Vaccines Reduce Risk of Infection by 91 Percent for Fully Vaccinated People | CDC Online Newsroom | CDC

And let's not make believe that anyone has maintained any vaccine is 100% effective, if that's what the Ouch man is trying to pull here using "prevent."

    Not true.
Vaccine have no super power they serve as a boost to your immune system to be prepared to fight covid. You always can get sick even when you are vaccinated and it always have been the case. That being said, vaccinated people have more chances to not transmit the virus than not vaccinated people because the anti bodies developed can eliminate the virus before it become virulant and contagious. The problem is that without vaccination is that it is way harder to get herd immunity and the virus has more chances to mutate and consequently could make the vaccinated people even more at risk.

As for your claim about the vaccine waning after a few months it is complete lies. Actually, the most recent studies about mRNA vaccine have shown that the immunity could remain very strong for 2 years and possibly even more. They even labelled it as one of the most efficient and long lasting vaccine in recent time. As for the booster, the claim that it is necessary have been denied by most viral scientist as of now as the current vaccine has been proven effective enough. The booster might be developed to be specifically targeted to combat more effectively the delta variant though.

Anyway vaccine is effective, it saves life, it can last up to 2 years (with 2 shots) and it does help reaching herd immunity.

Well written post. Can you post a link to the article about the mRNA's duration for 2 years. Just interested on the findings.

Just to clarify 2 years is an assumption based on results of 12 weeks after the vaccination, anti bodies still at near peak. The assumption as per studies is that most vacine are efficient after 1 year, therefore based on these results on mRNA vaccine it is not out of question that the vaccine will be very effective for 2 years (conservative estimate) and potentially even more. Basically the mRNA vaccines are amazing at creating long lasting antibodies to covid.

    The study:
    https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-021-03738-2

I also read another article that the booster are not necessary for now because even against the delta variant the vaccine is still very effective at 80%+

The reason people talk about 3rd shots and booster is purely from Pfizer/Biotech that want to monetize more their vaccine (money grab). As of now, 2 shots have been proven as more than enough.

Yes, but if the vaccine reduces effects & increases survival, wouldnt that in turn eventually increase odds of herd immunity?

Hopefully Batshit Cole Beasley has influenced his team mates enough that the Bills go 0-17 without ever seeing the field.

No because the more often viruses get passed around the more likely they are to mutate.

We can’t even call it natural selection Bc the people most likely to get it mostly aren’t going to die. All they’ll do is kill their parents and grandparents but since they’re past breeding age it doesn’t count for evolutionary purposes.

Cole Beasley is 100% douche. I would never wish for anyone to get the virus but if Buffalo had to forfeit a game and lost the division by 1 game that would be pretty funny

I understand that.... but if someone exposed, but vaccinated, wouldnt they develop the antibodies? No, I'm not a DR nor do I read random made up bs by anonymous people on twitter.... so I'm not claiming to have the answers ;)

Locally there's probably more sick people here right now than last year's peak..... and some people are totally up in arms by some local business owners wanting masks worn in their stores.

Flawed Stat. Death Rate is what we should be looking at.
