Vilma led the Jets in Tackles even in the 34. In a system, he obviously wasn?t built for he was among the top Tacklers in the League.

Revis was a Rookie, if you didn?t know. He came very late in Camp but still started from day one and was solid. After some games, he was great the second half of the Season holding TO and Moss to probably their worst games of the Season (did look up the stats) without a passrush.

Comparing Russel to Manning and calling Revis a half a year wonder is is just rediculous.

Vilma Led the jets in tackles in 3-4. BIG deal See Kenyon Coleman tackle at De in 3-4. Big reason why you have to look at where the tackles where made more, than how many tackles were made. (morre important stat)

Revis was picked on more than Raiderjeaux on this board, in the first half. He was that bad in the first half. Yes Revis played very solid in second half, but you have to take other factors into consideration. Weather conditions, teams they played, and jets inability to stop the run.
Sorry but Revis is not some probowl CB after playing one half very well. It dosen't happen that way.(He is a big question mark)

Jamarcus Russell comparison to Peyton Manning was a joke to rile up Jet fans.
Does he have Potential. Yes he has the potential to be even better than Peyton Manning.

Until Russell actual proves it on the field, and not half a season. Of coursed its a ridiculous comparison to make.

now making Tackles isn?t important anymore for LBs? What?s wrong with him beeing great in persuite?

really? the only thing i can remeber is that people said he?s gotta make some picks to be great instead of good, and he did.

you mean like no passrush and no help from the SS, because SS-play sucked big time last year?

What?s to question about that? Sure he?s gotta prove that he can continue to play on that level, but with the improved passrush and Run-D he should be able to at least get back to his play from 2007. He played like a probowl-player in the 2nd half. Not saying, that he should have made the Probowl, but if he contiues to play like he did (and i don?t see any reason why he shouldn?t) he should make the probowl in 2008. If he would be a Raider, you wouldn?t get tired to tell everybody, that he?s the next great shutdowncorner.

I won?t pick appart that mess. Just some things.

Vilma is in NO because he would have become a FA next year, and we couldn?t pay him what 43 teams will pay him, because he?s more valueable for a 43 than a 34. We traded him a year early, instead of seeing him walk and get no compensation.

Our Passrush improved in the 2nd half, because we threw everything we had on the QB, leaving Revis on an Island against the best Receivers in the League pretty often. And even thou, the passrush got better it still wasn?t anything special or even good.

Blame anything you want for it, fact is, Revis was one of the best CBs in the League playing on a medicore (at best) defense, during the 2nd half of the season. I think that?s pretty amazing for a Rookie-CB. Of course, in Football, noone knows, what?s gonna happen, and how he developes, maybe he?ll suck from now on, but odds are, he?ll become a great CB.

I don?t think he will make the Probowl, because probowl is 80% reputition, *cough, Lynch, cough* and which team you play on *cough, Cowboys, cough*, than actuall play. I just said if he keeps his game up, he should make the Probowl.

I'm just saying...logically if Revis improved when the D improved last year...and the front 7 only got bigger and faster this year...why couldn't Revis maintain his second half for say...a career?

My point. But as WSW saud in another thread, to Jeaux, every player in the league is a big ?, exept for Raider-Players. When it comes to Raider, they are all studs, nomatter how much obvious ? they have. Jeaux probably drafts 5-8 Raiderplayers in FF and is convinced, that it?s the only right thing to do, every year.
