what about Max-Jean Gilles. If him and mangold are there when we are selecting our 2nd round pick who would you choose. I'm saying go with gilles and make a run for LeCharles Bently

Would love to sign Bently. It won't happen though. If I had to choose between Mangold and Gilles though I would choose Mangold. No Question.

mangold did not look that impressive in the combines but gilles will give us a lift in that weak aged guard spot

You have to take Mangold over Gilles. There are many other good guards in the draft this year, that aren't a far drop-off from Gilles. Mangold, on the other hand, I believe is far and away the best center in the draft. Eslinger is the only guy who could actually be in the conversation, but I don't think he is anywhere near Mangold.

Mangold was amazing at Ohio State and dominated every time he was on the field for Senior Bowl practice, and in the Senior Bowl game itself. I also think he looked great at the combine, not sure where you came up with that.

Take Mario Williams with the #4 and De'Angello woth #9... Focus on O-Line the rest of the draft.

I guess it would help if I knew who Vernon Jones is.

Man, Vernon Davis is going to make someone very happy. Ben Watson is such a great weapon for the Pats, and Davis has the potential to be even better. Scary.

If the Jets manage to pick up the 9th pick from the Lions, and we assume that no trading down is done, then I'd like to see Vince Young or Jay Cutler, and then LenDale White at #9. I wouldn't be opposed to D'Brick at #4 either instead of the QB pick. If they land the #9 pick, and White is still available, then he HAS to be the pick.

D-Rob for a first rounder? lets be real here... no one would take him and his contract for anything higher then a 5th.

why get mario williams? if we do that, we are pretty much trading away abraham(a proven DE) to draft his "replacement"(who hasn't been proven yet). I would hate to use a pick one of our two picks on williams because then we should just keep abe instead. And concerning the second round, i think we should go with mangold over gilles because a) it looks like bentley will go to philly and b)and kendall could very well take a paycut and then we should keep him. he's a quality guard and a veteran on our young line(after the draft)
So.. #4 D'Brick (sure up the blind side for years to come(hopefully)) #9 (if we get it) Vernon Davis (absolute beast) Round 2: Mangold (hopefully saints wont take him)

Vernon Davis would be a very interesting option, but with the recent Jolley mess, I don't think they'll go spend another first rounder on a TE. Davis is going to be one monster of a player.

If either Leinart or Young is still on the board at No. 4, I hope we trade down. Some team will be willing to fork over a king's ransom for either one of them. That way, Jets might still have a shot at Cutler with the 9th pick or Brodie Croyle in the 2nd round.

Even if both Leinart and Young are gone, I'd still prefer the Jets to trade down with one of their first rounders. There are too many holes on this team, so the more draft picks we get on day 1, the better.

Sticking with the 4th and 9th, I'd take D'Brick and Ngata, with Croyle in the 2nd round.

I truly hope that Tan-Gini pay no heed to this kind of logic. What is done in the past is in the past. If there is something to learn - then fine. Comparing Jolley, Becht, Brady to Vernon Davis is ridiculous. The kid will open up our offense in so many ways. Think of the running lanes when the safety will have to account for Davis.

He would instantly make our offense better. The QB, RB, and Lavernaues will all benefit from his presence. IMO - he is the key to our rebuilding. he will offer an identity to our offense. Our Oline can be filled with the rest of our picks as the depth of OL in this draft is unprecedented.
