According to who??? I think that Vince Young might have something to say about that. Clemens has a very accurate arm and knows what to do with it (which IMO are much greater assets than just having a cannon, as long as you aren't throwing ducks) but I've never seen evidence of the #2 arm in the draft last year.
#2 was a stretch for him to say, but Clemens definitely goes #3 in my book. Clemens throws a very accurate deep ball (and I'm talking deep, not Chad Pennington deep) and that might be what he was talking about. As for Kellen's ability to sling it across the middle, it's alright. We don't need a first day QB right after choosing Clemens... we have too many major needs on D and we need a playmaker. To toss aside an unproven mid-2nd round pick after seeing him through less then 10 pro passes is completely retarded in my opinion, unless there's a talent like Brian Brohm sitting pretty (which there won't be). I'm starting to believe that if Troy Smith plays well in the Championship Game, he'll be the 2nd or 3rd QB off the board and in the first round, hands down. I didn't like the idea a week ago, but after seeing some more film of him he's VERY polished and very accurate. I'd still take a talented Charlie Weis trained QB over him, but Smith is slowing working his way up to #2 on my board. People thinking he'll be around in the 2nd round - dream on.
