On March 8, 2007 it was reported that Ainge would have to undergo surgery for a torn meniscus. Ainge stated that the injury occurred during weight-lifting exercise. He is 100% recovered, and it has had no effect on his 2007 season
Wikipedia has already updated his page to say he's a Jets player. Damn some people have nothing better to do.
I wondered about this too. Obviously he knows him, so I knew that would factor in for better or worse...guess you're right.
well I look at it this way, Next year, Pennington will not be a Jet, (barring a Superbowl MVP performance) even if he takes us to the playoffs. Thus we need a backup QB so why not take a flyer on Ainge who at worst case will be a solide backup? maybe he develops into something better, but we need a young backup anyways... and both networks ESPN and NFLN seem to really like Ainge, Jaws says the Jets gave Ainge a 3rd round grade...
I'm happy about the pick. Sounds like he has all the intangibles to be a good one. Well, now we wait for Goff to be there at #171 and we really have had a great Day 2!!
