I don't get how he would demand top dollar. He hasn't done anything these last few seasons. I think people are still enamored with his 10+ sacks 4 or 5 seasons ago, that they fail to realize he's been crappy since. Sure, he was a first rounder, but that doesn't mean he still deserves to be paid like one. Would you break the bank for a guy like Pennington, who hasn't played up to his contract since '02?
omg..wow that's another big one.... maybe we could get him?...i'd like that > start him #2:breakdance:
Redskins | Arrington released Sun, 5 Mar 2006 20:59:30 -0800 ESPNews reports the Washington Redskins have released LB LaVar Arrington due to salary cap constraints
Lavar Arrington would make our defense awesome i think we should consider making a run at this guy.. he is a playmaker at LB and with a change of scenery, he could flourish.. how are we as far as cap room goes.. could we sign him to a 5 year deal for say: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 mil each year?? i think he would def be worth it at that price.. 5 years for 25 mil... lavar, vilma, barton, hobson would be a nice LB core.. what do you all think??
Yup, we're gonna sign him along with the 55 other guys people have posted about on this board. Remeber, you heard it here first!
Rewind your VCR and see how many people said the exact same thing about the signing of TY Law last year and you might just piddle a bit in your pants. One dude won't do it. Arrington, although good, won't do it. No offense.
jesus, this thread has officially made me sign off and go to bed. Some people are living in a dream so i might as well go join them. Before I go though just so I can get this outta my system WE WILL NOT sign arrington, i know its nice to dream about us getting this guy and that guy but realistically it's not going to happen. at least you guys can keep dreaming am about to go join you'll. good night.
I wouldn't mind getting Arrington, he is a great linebacker when he is healthy. If the new CBA gets done, you never know...
Yeah, he hasnt but its because he is disgruntled.. He got paid big money so he can act the way he does. If he was a 3rd or 4th rounder he wouldnt be this way. Many redskins are acting this way, they want out example sean taylor,he can be an excellent player but the redskin organization treats their players like a piece of meat or trash. And this is why he is acting up and being a trouble maker. Your job has a huge effect on the way you come home. Upset or happy.
i think signing arrington would be awesome, if obvisly we could fit him into our cap, he's in his prime and along w/ vilma, barton, and hobson that would be a pretty awesome lb core, if were thinking about drafting aj hawk why not arrington?
he would be worth it at 5 mil a year for the next 5 years in his prime.. with a change of scenery he could def become dominant in our scheme.. i would love to get him esp since we are making so much salary cap space..
Look, I think Arrington is a freakish athlete, almost to the point of Kearse-freakish. And his motor reminds me of Lawrence Taylor. But he's been allowed to freelance in multiple systems for his entire pro career and he's not going to take kindly to a switch to OLB in a 3-4. Although he could succeed in such a capacity. Anyway, it doesn't matter, because I think Lavar Arrington is probably as far from our FO's plans as any player.
