Wirfs runs a 4.85 40. Great overall workout for him. Not sure he'll still be there at 11 but have to strongly consider him.
A couple of bad combine performers that could slide and benefit the Jets are Trey Adams (OT - Washington) and Zack Moss (RB - Utah). Adams is an amazing talent. But he's has two major injuries. If healthy he's going to be a good NFL tackle. 5.6 in the 40 and no bench press. But he's absolutely massive. Moss was a solid, not spectacular runner. He ran a slow 40 time. But when watching him he does everything well enough to be a solid RB for the duration of his rookie contract. He runs, he catches passes and he blocks. He's also consistently falling forward for yards. Think Lamar Miller pre-injury bug. Clyde Edwards-Helaire as well with a slower 4.6. He's the prototypical shotgun runningback. I hope we think about him if he slides. He's perfect for any shotgun offense and wears on defenses despite his stature.
That's a little surprising about Edwards-Helaire. He plays faster than that time suggests. I wonder why Adams didn't lift? Is one of his shoulders injured or something?
Sort of same question to both. Why do you think Wills is dropping, having just watched his clips the commentator was calling him a top ten pick, or that is what a top ten pick looks like right there. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jedrick-wills?id=32195749-4c62-6320-8b63-20c37d057bf8 Why do you want the Giants to get him? Cheers.
I think Willis is still highly regarded, but has no experience at LT. Willis is solid, but IMO Wirfs and Becton have shown the ability to play either tackle spots. Plus their athletic ability and strength is off the charts. Willis is really good, but I would prefer someone whose actually had experience at LT. Wirfs played LT and RT. Becton can do both. That's just my assessment.
Cheers, makes sense as we need the left tackle first and foremost along with all the other spots on OL lol All three of them were impressive tbh oddly never seen Thomas on any of the highlights on NFL.com? One of them is listed as a RT but he was playing with a left handed QB so essentially does that make him a LT with a right handed QB? I can't remember which one that was now either bloody memory lol
You got it, Willis is the guy that played RT for a left handed qb. He can probably play LT, but no experience in doing so. I think he'll be solid but not great. It's not easy to make that transition. I dont think hes as athletically gifted in comparison to the others. Plus I love the aggressive nature of Wirfs and Becton, I want some mean nasty lineman to set the tone and those guys finish their assignments. Willis I watched a few of his games,he kinda bores me. Thomas is going through draft fatigue but hes easily the safest LT in this draft. A lot of lineman are getting love right now and Thomas is almost becoming an afterthought. He has the best tape.
I was too. I have a personal investment in him. Local kid and I've met his family Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
I thought it was him but didn't want to commit myself in case I was wrong, I then couldn't find the bloody clip and you keep putting Willis or is that a dumb autocorrect issue lol and I am thinking it is Jeddrick Wills? Still, which of these beasts is falling down to 11?
This is literally the biggest mystery to me. All season Thomas was touted and projected as the best tackle. He hasn't done anything wrong to make him worth dropping to as far as some are projecting. I hope Thomas or Jeudy are their for us at 11. Can't go wrong with either.
Shit my bad dude, it's Jedrick Wills. I think Cleveland snatches Wirfs. Becton could be the guy and Thomas could drop. Hopefully the Giants like either Derrick Brown or Wills and the other lineman talent drops. Also Jordan Love the QB could slip into the top 10 you never know. Imagine 4 QBs in the top 10?
It's pretty much fatigue and the rise of other lineman. Tape never lies. Thomas was great all year. I think I want Denzel Mims man, this draft to me is about becoming more physical. Mims is a monster man. Strong hands, redzone target, large catch radius. 2nd rounder, might have to trade up a few spots. Then maybe get Van Jefferson in the later rounds!
There were a couple of good showings by QB's, Love started a little nervous but ended well and Herbert looked good, Hurts also did himself no harm.
If Tua somehow goes at 3 or 4 before Miami picks Miami could 100% take Love over Herbert. Reports are saying that they like him way more and will be willing to take him over Herbert.
In general I agree with you on this, but I lean towards filling holes within that equation. IOW, you don't grab the BPA Safety when you need a QB and a good one is there. Or a BPA DT when good OL are there.
