I like the idea of trading back into the first. But I would take lamb at 11 and trade back up in the first for the lt Josh Jones
Trading up is like a boogeyman on this board. The key to trading up is hitting on the pick. The Jets have 8 picks to play with in the draft, they're going to be doing some moving around the board. If they can leave the first day with a top OT prospect like Thomas or Becton AND get a stud playmaker like Ruggs then holyyyyyyyy shit.
I will be on pins and needles till we get through the first 10 picks ! ...we need one of Becton Wirfs or Thomas to start things off I agree no trade up ...no mortgaging the future...unless absolutely necessary
Claypool ran better than I expected too (4.42). I think a lot of these receivers are helping themselves out. He's a big dude. Pittman ran where I expected. I still think he'll be a steal especially if he drops to 3/4. Lamb slower than I thought at 4.51. But I still don't really think his 40 time matters. He's so quick in small areas.
Hopefully that ends the idea that Claypool should be a TE. I say a few comments suggesting that in his highlight videos.
Really? I never heard that. He reminds me a lot of Mike Evans in size and the way he plays. I think he would've had a similar year to Evans sophomore year at A&M if Ian Book could throw the ball down the field. He really looks like him when he runs. Not as dynamic or physically dominant as Evans though so take that comparison lightly. He only has one big year of production, but he's a solid second-third round prospect.
I think he was one of the ones asked to do both TE and WO drills. There was a list. But yeah some people think he could move. Like you I see him as more of a Mike Evan's type. And this combine definitely should help his stock. Donovan Peoples-Jones stock should be going up as well. He did better than I expected. Kid can jump and he's not as slow as I thought he would be.
Love throws a nice deep ball. I can’t tell if he’s hitching in his motion when throwing deep because camera view is far away though
Lamb doing what he does best. Makes a big-time catch, high pointing the ball and still managing to get both feet down in bounds for the TD. He's going to be special.
This WR class is stupid. Mims from Baylor id def take now and he will be around in the 2nd. More and more I feel you can go OL and still get a stud WR in the 2nd. Hell you can double back in the 4th round to get a good WR as well.
First off, if we are dismissing mocks as a base to build our conversation around than there’s really no point in doing anything other than discussing each prospect . I know their not 100% accurate but it gives us a start to where players should be grouped. 2. The draft isn’t for filling holes. I say this every year, to think any gm is going in with a shopping list looking to fill holes is just off base. It’s talent acquisition for the next 4+ years. If you think you can get a game changer by moving up you don’t sacrifice that to grab a mid round jag with ok tape. 5-8+ years of a game breaker is better than hoping to snag a starter in a lower round.
Not a lot of people are mentioning Centre in the draft but I really hope we address this postion in Rounds 2 or 3 - we had too many problems there last season to leave it again I'm really hoping that teams fall in love with all these Q/B's and want to move up to get "their man" - the more Q/B's that go early the happier I will be.
