Holmes never seems to keep his mouth shut, he doesn't produce all year - yet goes and says Carolina's weakness is their secondary - proceeds to have only 2 catches. We don't need someone like that on our squad - even for the vets min

IMO Holmes is just another player in a line of former SB MVPs who cashed in on that by signing with a new team during FA, then basically sucked for their new team. We got more from Holmes than most of those other teams did from their SB MVPs, but that still doesn't mean he shouldn't go. We know who he is. A zebra can't change his stripes. He's not suddenly a "team" guy who will do anything for the team. He's only about Santonio.

Cotchery left because of Holmes. Maybe, the most detrimental loss to Sanchez. Cotchery is the kind of player you want around a learning Qb.

Exactly! Cotchery was a great Jet and an excellent player for the team. Made big catches in big games. Dependable. Tough. I don't know that much about why he left, only that he felt the Jets didn't respect him. He may have overvalued himself, however. I think he saw himself as a #1 WR, and wanted a lot more money than he deserved. He isn't and never was that (a #1). He was a topflight #2 WR, at least with the Jets, but is what #4, 5 or 6 with the Steelers? I hated that he left. If you're right that it's because of Holmes, then that's all the more reason to detest Holmes, but also to detest Tanny and Rex. Rex should have fought to keep a guy like Jerricho over wanting Holmes.

No Cothcery left because the front office kept fucking him over. Not because of Holmes. Cothcery said it himself that he had a good relationship with Holmes.

And yet Cotchery is having a great season with Pitt this year despite their struggles. I was real upset when he left, still am.

crap I wouldn't want to move my kid to another high school either.
Take minimum, and be happy you still have a job.
Just STFU and do what your being paid to do.
That's all I have to say about that

Spell his fucking name right. "Cotchery" played the game the way a champion plays. Not like your bum, homles fucking 18 whack ass receptions and still talking shit. Seasons over Holmes, "I could care less" on twitter. Holmes is garbage worthy of no recognition moving forward. Clown ass diva receiver #10

Yep. That's why the Jets should have found a way to make him happy and keep him if at all possible. That's another one on Tanny.

Huh? "And yet" implies that I said he wasn't any good or didn't want him back. That's not at all what I said.

Yes, but we are talking about WFH here. WFH was beyond awful in 2011...

Awesome character player  Great to have around the younger receivers  Not a locker room cancer, at all

Worst signing of the "Rex Ryan" era. If we lose at home to Cleveland and on the road to Miami, Rex should be gone. Looking back now, some of the worst decisions by Rex camp; destroyed 10years of what it really meant to play like a member of the Jets.

Pennington-Cotchery-Martin-Chrebet Blue collar fighters. Not the flashiest, not the most talkative, but they had grit and made football fun to watch. No slap-dicks like Holmes on that squad.

if we can move santonio back over to his REAL position (#2 wideout) and bring in a Hakeem Nicks type guy that opens up the field then im all for letting Tone stay.. but as our #1 threat? na he can kick rocks

Thanks but NO THANKS!!! PS on Cotchery. After he signed with the Steelers he was irregularly used for the first few years. He didn't even dress for a few games. This season without Wallace and with injuries he got a chance to play and has been (no surprise to any of us) very good and reliable.
