If it did not touch an Eagle it would not have been their ball , it is a Kickoff not a punt , the ball is live --- an absolutely horrendous call. And if it did go out of bounds , thats a penalty and the ball should have been spotted on the 40. The refs completely botched this one.
That's crazy. Cardinals in the Super Bowl. I have to believe that if Champ was a Cards fan, he would've written this team off a long time ago. It's amazing how a 9-7 team can make a run in the playoffs when they get hot.
going for the XP was the right move. You had a guy in Akers who has been excellent on short FGs and XPs (although he can't kick over 45 anymore) and hadn't missed during the regular season or playoffs. Gary Anderson redux in missing in the NFC Championship game (that was being perfect in FGs, though, which is much harder). Finally, I always would go for the XP with over a quarter to go, down 5. Eagles have played a very, very stupid game. Samuel with the obvious PI in the end zone. The late hit on Warner with the ref standing right there. Unnecessary. Akers has been putrid.
what a huge turnaround. It's primarily been that the Eagles pass defense has all of a sudden begun to dominate the Arizona pass offense.
