I'm hearing quite a few reports/ruomors that teams that are also looking to draft WRs are eying our spot and looking to leap-frog us. I hope they come to us first for a dose-doe
Teams that want to draft ahead of us for a WR just make it more likely we go defense. People who want us to draft a WR should hope other teams believe we want a CB the most.
This extra week of waiting to see Idzik wheel and deal is awful. How could Radio City screw up a Rockette's performance mistaking this week for the next lol.
Dude who knows the real politics behind it, I'm sure it's about money on some level. It does suck but it''s only 1 week now lol.
I am paraphrasing, but Terry Bradway himself basically admitted during yesterday's press conference that others within the organization found it challenging to adjust to Idzik's "deliberate" pace. He sort of checked himself before expanding further. Obviously he doesn't want to criticize his boss. I don't know if it's posted on the website, but if so go watch it for yourself. That is his senior college scouting director talking about Idzik, not some buffoon with a press badge.
That is also a man that has worked for another guy that pulled the trigger whenever he thought he saw a raccoon. Don't you think the Jets scouts would have had to adjust to a GM that is far more methodical than Tanny?
Goodell should just get it over with and push the draft to July. You knows he wants to do it. 2 more months of build-up, Roge! More ad revenue, more stupid pre-draft TV round-tables, more mock drafts, more McShay and Kiper...
Sure. I'm not knocking the approach. So far I like what Idzik's done. I hated Tannenbaum. My reply was to the guy who said the talk about Idzik's glacial pace was purely a media creation. It's not. All I'm saying is it makes me wonder how nimble we can be on draft day when the man calling the shots is used to dragging things out.
He appears to be methodical with free agent signings. The draft is an animal of a very different color.
July is way too close to training camp. Teams need to be able to vet their draft picks. May is likely as far back as the draft gets.
TN, you really need to organize your opinions better. You're all over the map and exposing your half hearted efforts.
There's a difference between deliberate and glacial. Glacial suggests a movement of inches a year. Deliberate just means you take your time before you act, particularly on important matters. Measure twice and cut once. Don't just wade in with the shears and hope the line you cut is straight and the edges not too rough as a consequence.
Injuries have been up the last few years. MM and Rex will stun everyone and pick a quality S & C coach to replace Sal Alosi.
Agree. I fully believe he will do it if he feels its the right thing for the Jets. But he will not panic and overtrade for projects like we have done in the past.
There are a lot of WR's in this draft. It's not a position where you have to pick the first guy on your list without regard to who else is available. I really wouldn't be that surprised if the Jets did something else in the 1st round. The 2nd and 3rd rounds will likely still have potential #1 candidates available.
Just for kicks, while we desperately await for next Thursday, I listed below what I see to be some different levels or degrees of "expect the unexpected " and the corresponding Jet fan reaction for round one 1- Shock and Awe - Jets trade up, and select K. Mack 2- Euphoria - Jets trade down, still land M. Lee and get extra second rounder 3- Happiness - Jets select BPA at 18th, an immediate contributor either at S, WR, CB or TE 4- Disbelief - Jets pick another OT, OG or DE 5- Postal anger - Jets come out of nowhere and select a project that was due to go on the later rounds I have full confidence that Idzik will stay the hell away from number five. The 8th can not come soon enough.
