Based on the players the Jets have had come in for visits it's really looking like a CB, S, or WR in round 1.
Every year a few players fall in the draft. The Jets ignore their needs and go BPA. We will once again be surprised with the pick. Everyone has us taking a WR, however, we can get starting caliber WRs in later rounds. My guess? CJ Mosley or Anthony Barr. I'll take Barr.
Yep lol the jets do the opposite if what is expected. Odds are we will go defensive lineman since we don't need 1 and that's what we've did the last 12 years. But seriously the jets could surprise us all and go with a guard or tackle. Maybe a QB slips and we go there. It will be interesting.
The Jets did visit a number of corners last season, Milliner was one of them. They also visited with Geno. Sheldon Richardson isn't on the list. I'm not sure their visit list is a sure sign of draft picks.
http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/...top&rand=ref~{"ref":"https://www.google.com"} This appears to be what Max is basing his opinion on. Not a shot in the dark, but visits don't dictate everything. They may just be for teams to try to find more info on players that they are on the fence about.
I heard the draft got moved back 2 weeks because Radio City double booked the date and by the time they straightened it out the NFL had already moved on to May 8th. Now there's talk of taking the draft show on the road...letting cities bid on it annually.
Thanks for the link, yeah usually teams will bring a player in just to get a better feel for them if theres still question marks.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...eams-interest-in-top-2014-nfl-draft-prospects This one also lists Michael Sam, that seems to be the only discrepancy though.
It's funny because most years there is some confidence as to who will be on the board where we pick. This year it could be such a broad range of players, the only thing I genuinely don't expect is a QB or a DT. Even though it seems CB, WR, S are the most likely, I am not at all convinced it won't end up being OLB Demarcus Lawrence, or ILB CJ Mosely, or OT Taylor Lewan. There is usually a sort of tiered drop off in talent through the first round, which makes it at least somewhat reasonable to do mock drafts. You just match a player still available in the tier with a team need. This year is different, it's really seeming like the top 8-10 players are a tier, and then the rest of the players all the way through 35-40 are almost all stuck into one tier. I think that's part of what they mean when they say it's such a deep class, and out of the 25-30+ players that make up that tier, it's really just whomever the team's personal preference is. A weird thing seems to be happening in which people are so used to latching onto players mocked in the first round, that very talented players aren't considered to be on the same level just because of mock-draft-group-think. There are very talented prospects like Kyle Van Noy, Demarcus Lawrence, and Jordan Matthews who could be top 20 picks but people just don't think of it that way because people didn't mock them in the first round often.
I really didn't wanna look it up but here ya go.. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/did-nfl-lie-why-pushed-110048372--nfl.html Did the NFL lie about why it pushed the draft to May? By Jeff Fedotin April 28, 2014 7:00 AM Normally, at this time you’d be scouring the Internet for draft grades of your favorite team. Instead the NFL pushed back this year’s NFL Draft two weeks later and into May. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that the 2014 NFL Draft was moved because of a scheduling conflict at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, which hosts the draft. "At this late stage, for us to do it the right way,” Goodell told ESPN.com last year, “we don't see having any choice but to move the date.” The NFL reaffirmed to NFP last week that a Radio City show was the reason for pushing back the draft to May 8-10. click the link for more.....
That could be correct but the NFL cited Radio City as a conflict last year too, you think they would have learned their lesson a year in advance. It's not like they wanted to schedule a Johnny Manziel workout there, it's the draft.
