I think we'll see Hackenberg on another team's practice squad before we see him in live game action as a Jet. I could be completely wrong. I tried to make the best of the pick when we made it but I have seen nothing from him that indicates he has any business being in this league. We have one of the worst quarterback situations in the league. And the kid can't even get activated on game day. I hope I'm wrong and he turned out to be the next Aaron Rodgers. I just don't see it. But I hope Mac and Bowles recognize this sooner rather than later and cut bait if he's really not worth it as we all suspect. The mark of a good regime is one that doesn't hold on to players because of their contract and draft position. I hate to make the Patsies comparison all the time, but Belichick cuts high draft picks all the time. CB Ras I Dowling and WR Chad Jackson were both second round draft picks and cut within two years on the team. DT Dominique Easley was a first round pick and gone after two years. Pete Carroll started a 3rd round rookie over a quarterback they just paid decent money to in the offseason.
Don’t really think jets are going anywhere this season. They Won a few games but looked bad doing it. I’d like to see what Hack has as a QB. I don’t think Mcclown is the answer. Let the man play (hack) and let’s see what he’s got...

I've supported him but can't support this statement of his. Josh has no future and now he doesn't. Woody should have said "I've seen Todd Bowles coach, Rex is our coach" How can we develop anything if we don't give these kids a shot. Petty/Hack could easily be the next Cousins or some shit(who isn't) bad but we'll never know if they're rotting on the bench.
I always get excited at this time of year, we are getting close to the annual “Jets just need to win out” thread. I can’t afford to buy a calendar so it’s a good way of knowing it’s early November.
Well, if Petty and Hack ever thought they had a shot with the Jets, that dream just died a quick and sudden death. Both of those kids should just wait until their rookie deals are up and get the hell outta Florham Pk. Maybe Macc will have mercy and release and/or trade either or both of these kids this off season. It would be an act of kindness as opposed to the death by a thousand inactives or SHAM QB competitions.
It's a slap in the face to Mac, Bowles and Mac probably don't even have a good working relationship at this point.
Petty and Hack are not the answer, and McCown is playing as good as any Jets QB has played in recent memory. I don't fault Bowels at all. This is on McCagnan for not putting the pieces in place to compete for a playoff spot.
Bowles comment says it all, the kids can't play. He saw them for a couple of months and decided they have not developed enough to be trusted with the offense.
Part of Bowles' responsibility as HC was to make sure that the young QBs were developing and getting ready to play. If neither Petty nor Hack can be trusted with the offense, then that is on Bowles and he deserves to be fired for that if nothing else.
