I agree but he hasn't done squat for us yet. He's no doubt one of the most talented young receivers in the league but then again, so is Braylon and I don't think we can keep both.
What theyve done for us has nothing to do with who is most important to get a new contract. We got to be looking at who will do the most for us moving forward, and of all the guys after Harris/Revis Holmes easily should be the top priority. And who knows what kind of money Holmes/Edwards can command. I dont think either can command as much as guys like Steve Smith/Fitz/Moss/AJ due to their checkered history, plus Braylon has only had 1 hit year. If anything Braylon would likely command money similar to Cotch, where as Holmes would be the one to get a payday.
All I'm saying is see how each one plays and behaves this season and THEN make a decision. If one of them throws a glass at someone at a bar we may have an issue
I suppose I wasn't excluding Revis. Get 3 of the core 4 signed and Revis will follow, and the longer he waits the less he'll be able to get.
That's nonsense. Braylon's collecting $6.1 million this year; he wanted 9. Cotch is getting about 3 and a half. If Braylon signs Cotchery's contract, he's either an idiot or he tore ligaments.
Call me old fashion but I personally would take old #89 over 17 and 10 any day. I like Jericho he plays hard, blocks well and he never complains about anything. Edwards and Holmes have done jack for the Jets compared to good old number 89.
hmm for some reason I thought Cotch was collecting 5-6 million a year, apparently hes getting far lass than that. I dont see Braylon getting 9 though, thats in the company of elite recievers. Didnt Andre Johnson just sign a 7 year 73 million dollar contract or something ? thats barely over 10 million a year, at best Braylon should be looking at 7 million and change.
Holmes, really?? He's been with us for three preseason games. Holmes has the ability to be dangerous, on the field and off Holmes will be a monster by game 8.
I've never understood the aversion players have to being tagged several years running, assuming they don't mind the city they are playing in. If Harris was tagged three years in a row he'd be by far the #1 compensated linbacker over that span. If he was tagged four years running the cumulative effect would be like Aso's deal: highest paid linebacker of all time.
