I don't think it is premature, he will probably never be as good as O'Neil but he plays with the same kind of intensity, always has and that is the kind of player the Yanks have been missing.
Know what kinds of player they were missing more? The kind of player who would throw a baseball with velocity and accuracy for six or seven innings every five days. They also really missed the kind of player who would stay healthy for most of the season.
I don't know if they do it all the time or if it was just because it was the first one in the new stadium, but the Royals' fireworks and music for a routine HR in the 3rd inning of the 6th game of the year is a bit over dramatic.
Um, what? The Yanks have had pitching and injury issues for each of the past four seasons. I think people just like the human/intangible aspect of it too much. Obviously Swisher's "intensity" didn't help the White Sox last year. Chemistry is so overrated, it's ridiculous.
This is the classic Joba to the bullpen game. If he actually faced a team that could hit he would have probably given up 6 or 7 runs in the first 4 innings with his 2 pitch repertoire. They may say he has 4 but nobody really takes that seriously.
OMG if Joba were in the pen, we wouldn't have this problem. (We'd already have been losing by 3 runs.) ETA: I see Don's already on top of it. What a joke. Did you watch the game? His change was actually better than his slider today. You are unreal.
My fantasy team had a bad week, up to yesterday I was 1-8-1, finshed today 7-3. Yeah, That is awesome.
He's also afraid of walls, and doesn't scare anyone with his arm. Oh and his OBP is going to be less than less than league average. But yes I see yes "creating runs"
