This coming from someone who feels a need to reference me specifically in responses that have nothing to do with me? I've found that resorting to personal attacks is usually a fairly reliable sign that someone is incapable of refuting a point. I mean, what's the deal? You disagree with what I have to say? You have several choices: 1. Put me on ignore. 2. Attempt to refute my points. 3. Continue with the sidelong personal attacks and inane references to what you think I believe. Pretty simple. For the record, I'm 32. I completely missed this post before now. How pleasant. No wonder you've been making snide little comments. You're welcome to your opinion, and you don't have to give a fuck what I have to say. You are also severely overestimating how much importance I give to what is said on a message board... specifically from you and your "baseball opinions." I read this board to learn Jets news, pass the time, and discuss baseball. If others care to discuss it, I think that's great. If not, oh well. Perhaps it's my "adolescent naivet?" that allows me to think that some people might be interested to discuss baseball in terms that amount to more than "my opinion can beat up your opinion." That a sharing of ideas can be enlightening to some. If you want to post your feelings and opinions devoid of criticism or analysis, maybe you should buy a diary: http://www.amazon.com/3450-Groovy-Girls-Lock-Key-Diary/dp/1593951582" By posting on a public message board, however, you're pretty much inviting people to comment on what you say/think. (It's sort of the modus operandi of message boards, you know?) Sorry you aren't willing or able to defend your opinions a little better, and that you think I'm out to get you or something.
Who played defense behind Wang yesterday, minor leaguers? Could have something to do with the score, no?
What's the difference between Dave coming in the Yankee thread and making a (possibly sarcastic) comment about Yankees young pitching and you doing the exact same thing in the Mets thread about Maine yesterday?
I think so but I can't find a box score for it and it WAS a minor league game. It doesn't really change the fact that he gave up 4 out of 5 earned runs and 6 hits in 5 2/3 innings but I won't worry about this one.
Well you could be right as I haven't found a box score either, but as we know Wang let's them hit into the defense and has found great success doing this with the major league Yanks fielding behind him. Just made me wonder...
More personal attacks. Awesome. What is the internet if not a place to lash out semi-anonymously? And fortunately for my IQ, the predictive value of your opinions have proven to be rather low.
Is that right, the season opens Tuesday? I thought it was next weekend for some reason. Wow, that's soon. Nevermind, that's just the screwed up ESPN site. I just noticed they have the Yankees playing Cleveland one day and the Phillies the next day but they list these under regular season games. I think it's because Boston and Oakland really do play a regular season game on the 25th. For everybody else it is still pre-season. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/schedules?date=20080325
The difference is that it is all that Dave contributes to TGG. It would probably be a better looking identity if he himself rooted for a team that was a winner sometime in the last 22 years.
No, the difference is when Six Feet Under did the exact same thing he wasn't attacked for it. This thread is quickly turning into a cesspool.
If people go into the Met threads,Met fans can handle it how they want. ALL Dave does on here is trash the yankees. If it is turning into a cesspool,it can be corrected when the shit leaves.
You girls going to keep this up all season? No one wants to read lectures from sabr-squids with no sense of humor, let alone irony.
I don't get your use of bold. "Semi-anonymously" is a personal attack? But whatever. You don't have to worry about the rest of the season. I'm done with it. Actual baseball discussion -- honest back-and-forth talk about a topic -- is becoming more and more rare. And I'm sorry if I contributed to that downward spiral. Not my intent. If my posts are going to be taken as "sabr-squid lectures," then this place is only useful for Jets news/updates.
