Next season is supposed to be the big comeback year. But I have a hard time thinking they'll be able to compete next year.

Yeah I think 2015 is probably the Mets earliest best shot at a serious run

They're going to have big problems when they don't win Harvey's and Niese's starts.

bottom of the 10th, Byrd bunts 2 over, 2nd and 3rd 1 out

They may walk duda to set up the DP

they're bringing in an extra infielder

with buck on third though, a flyball isn't a lock to score him, so I don't really agree with this

Always surprising when the Mets are able to win an extra inning game.

I honestly didn't understand a single word Valdespin said, but YAY!

My dad sent me a text saying the exact same thing. I don't have SNY here, but my dad sends me a text saying Burkhardt interviewed Spin and he had no idea what he said!

    New York Mets ✔ @Mets

First #Mets walk-off grand slam since 1991. Last by Kevin McReynolds (June 25 vs. Montreal).

Recorded the game as it was n uk tv....trouble is my recording finished early so all i saw was Valdespin getting out in bottom of the 8th...

Thoughts on the game up to 8th...

Harvey pitched well but the run support was atrocious early on..Ike the strike is frankly a mess...half the time he is so off balance he nearly falls over. Duda was immense all game .... one thing that seems to be working at the moment for the maj of hitters is the patience at the plate.

    Lets hope it continues

This season should be last for both. Combined, they are probably eating around $35 mil.

I think Aldersons pursuit of Bourn from Atl shows he is gearing up for bigger deals when feasible.

I do believe we have some excellent players in AAA/AA that will produce in 12--18 months ....its after timing but Valdespin is a prime example of someone TC seems unhappy to use YET he could play OF and free Duda from his stupid square peg /round hole position of OF. Montero and Wheeler will be starting pitchers next year...Niese, Harvey , Wheeler, Gee and Montero..thats a potentially fantastic rotation...with a multitude of good solid arms in AAA/AA to fil the bullpen (note the Potential bit) Add in D'Arnaud , Nimmo , Plawecki, Ceciliani , Vaughan and the talent is there for first time in many years.

I think we will see the end of TC this year..he has given us some balls but not sure he is a winner...safe pair of hands but not a game changing manager in my view.

I am confident in Sandy to get the right players in ,...if the fucktards known as the Wilpons release the purse strings we will be in a strong position to compete with a young team with upside...

Now off to watch the jets draft a Punter and FB in round one!!

Davis is truly awful once again. What is it with him and the spring?

They need to put ike down to aaa take him away from pressure and fix his issues. One hr every 8 strikeouts is no good, he's a talent but has fundamental problems

    Line up should be

    Baxter/ cowgill
    Murphy
    Wright
    Duda
    Valdespin- full time
    Buck
    Lagares/Byrd
    Tejada
    Pitcher

Having someone incapable of driving in a RBI at clean up is just not acceptable

Send Ike down asap. Enough is enough. WHY IS IKE ALLOWED TO BAT UNDER .200 FOR MONTHS AT A TIME. It's absurd to allow this to continue just because he can smack a 4-5 HRs a month. Duda needs to be 1st. Period.

Thing that pisses me off about Ike is its the same fundamentals as last year that need working on....he comes off in his interviews as he doesn't agree with the coaching staff re his issues...fact is he is a liability and not even a good DH candidate.
