I also hate how Collins is handling Harvey. 2nd and 3rd in the 11th, 2 outs, Byrd hits a hard grounder but Crawford makes a great diving stop and throws him out.
5:15 game and counting. 16th inning. Crawford was the hero of the game, too, after making that great play some innings ago. Mets trying to figure out how to blow this game. yeah Mets figure they can end it with a SF walkoff
Put it in the books. Mets survive. Gulls were really out in force after midnight. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323844804578527623979373726.html Article on the seagulls at AT&T. They were swarming in extra innings.
Been away .... Nice to see what lead off hitter with base stealing speed can do for a team! Need to be careful with Harvey ... Too many 100+ games for my liking This team with speed and AAA players performing is at least one worth watching !
Marcum is out for the year with thoracic outlet syndrome. He'll have surgery on Monday. 1-10 with a 5.29 ERA for a mere $4 million. Nice job, Sandy. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/e...on-needs-surgery-for-thoracic-outlet-syndrome
Byrd with the grand slam in the top of the 8th that hopefully puts the game out of reach for the Mets at 10-5.
Jeez... I really wanted to see him go on some Anthony Young like run too.... I was bummed when he actually got that W.
So many bad FA signings for the Mets. This one was bad but at least it's only four million. Mets on a hot streak here, although I guess it's more the Giants being ice cold. If the bullpen can hang onto a 6 run lead in the 9th, that's four in a row. Giants would be at 1-8 in their last 9.
Didn't even think about this until I saw the article but the Mets landed on the runway right next to the Asiana Flight http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/...close-look-at-san-francisco-crash-site-071013
Yet another extra inning loss. Anyone know why Hefner left after 7 having given up 2 runs on 3 hits and thrown only 78 pitches?
I just looked at the play-by-play - I see he removed him for a pinch hitter to lead off the 8th inning in a tie game. I can't really criticize that too much - I don't think I would do it, but it is completely consistent with the "Go for the win on the road" philosophy. I don't see the slightest difference in Davis. He's 2/16 since the first game back, which was obviously a fluke. I cannot imagine why they brought him up, unless they have already decided that he will not be on the team next year, and were just desperately hoping he would get hot enough that someone would take him off their hands before the trade deadline. Of course, he torpedoed that idea pretty quickly! If it's that they'll send him down at the end of July and he'll never be heard from again.
ike has to stop with that hitch in his swing. he starts with his hands up near his ear hole then drops them down then back up again.needs to just pull back and rip
